- a feedback circuit 12 is provided between the output terminals PO (+) and PO (G) and the switching control IC 200.
- This feedback circuit 12 generates a feedback signal by comparing the divided value of the voltage between the output terminals PO (+)-PO (G) with a reference voltage, and feeds back the feedback voltage to the feedback terminal FB of the switching control IC 200 in an insulated state. Is a circuit for inputting.
- An external circuit including a resistor Rss and a capacitor Css is connected between the soft start terminal SS and the ground GND.
- a capacitor C4 is connected between the feedback terminal FB and the ground terminal.
- the feedback circuit 12 acts so that the voltage at the feedback terminal FB decreases as the output voltage to the output terminals PO (+) and PO (G) becomes higher than the set voltage.
- the switching control IC 200 outputs a rectangular wave signal from the output terminal OUT, and turns on / off the first switching element Q1 and the second switching element Q2 via the drive circuit 11 at a predetermined switching frequency. Thereby, switching power supply devices 304A and 304B operate as current resonance converters.
- the switching control IC 200 detects the output voltage from the input signal of the feedback terminal FB, and controls the frequency of the square wave signal output to the output terminal OUT so that this voltage is constant. As a result, the output voltages of the switching power supply devices 304A and 304B are stabilized.
- the original function of the soft start terminal SS of the switching control IC 200 is a terminal for performing a soft start operation.

- a constant current circuit is connected inside the soft start terminal SS, and a charging time constant for the capacitor Css is determined by the value of the constant current and the capacitance of the external capacitor Css.
- the switching control IC 200 has the following functions. (1) A first overcurrent protection function that limits the output power by stopping the switching operation by setting the output terminal voltage for controlling the switching element to a low level.

- FIG. 4 is a diagram showing the relationship between the voltage of the soft start terminal SS and the maximum on-pulse width.
- the maximum on-pulse width is determined in the range of 0 to 16.5 ⁇ s in proportion to the voltage of the soft start terminal SS.
- the maximum on-pulse width is maintained at 16.5 ⁇ s.
- FIG. 5 is a block diagram showing the internal configuration of the switching control IC 200.
- the one-shot circuit 240 sets the flip-flop 213
- the Q output signal of the flip-flop 213 is output as a high-level gate control voltage to the OUT terminal via the AND gate 214 via the AND gate 214.
- the CT generator circuit 241 outputs the ramp waveform voltage after the output of the AND gate 214 becomes high level.
- the comparator 212 resets the flip-flop 213 when the output voltage of the CT generator circuit 241 exceeds the lowest voltage among the voltages input to the three ( ⁇ ) terminals. As a result, the voltage at the OUT terminal is returned to the low level. By repeating the above, the output voltage of the OUT terminal is changed to a square waveform.
- the constant current circuit CCC1 is connected to the soft start terminal SS. As shown in FIG. 2, by connecting the capacitor Css to the soft start terminal SS, the voltage of the soft start terminal SS becomes equal to the charging voltage of the capacitor Css. As the voltage of the soft start terminal SS rises, the timing at which the output of the comparator 212 is inverted is delayed, and the ON time of the switching element is gradually increased. This causes a soft start operation. Since the constant current circuit CCC1 is provided in the switching control IC as described above, it is not necessary to connect a constant current circuit to the outside, and the number of parts can be reduced and the size can be reduced.
- the voltage of the soft start terminal SS is equal to the current value of the constant current circuit CCC1 and the resistor Rss when the capacitor Css is fully charged. It depends on the resistance value.
- the output voltage of the resistance voltage dividing circuit 216 is the lowest among the voltages input to the three ( ⁇ ) terminals of the comparator 212. Therefore, the ON time width of the switching element increases as the voltage of the soft start terminal SS increases.
- the soft start operation is performed by gradually spreading.
- the output voltage of the resistance voltage dividing circuit 224 becomes the lowest state among the voltages input to the three ( ⁇ ) terminals of the comparator 212. Therefore, switching is performed according to the voltage applied to the feedback terminal FB.
- the on-time of the element is determined.
- the comparator 212 Among the voltages input to the three ( ⁇ ) terminals, the voltage applied to the SS terminal is in the lowest state, and therefore, the ON time is controlled not to become longer, and the maximum ON time or the maximum The hour ratio is set. As a result, a third overcurrent protection function by limiting the maximum on-pulse width is realized.
- the first overcurrent protection selection circuit 217 uses, for example, 4V as a threshold value, and if the voltage of the soft start terminal SS exceeds 4V, the first overcurrent detection circuit 222 is activated by enabling the AND gate 218. Enable output.
- the first overcurrent detection circuit 222 sets the output to a high level when the voltage at the IS terminal exceeds 0.3 V, and starts the timer operation of the overcurrent protection timer 219.
- the overcurrent protection timer 219 causes the timer latch 221 to be latched via the OR gate 220 when the output of the first overcurrent detection circuit 222 becomes high level and continues for 50 ms.
- the timer latch 221 stops switching of the switching element for 3.2 s. Thereby, the first overcurrent protection function is realized.
- a predetermined time is set when the IS terminal voltage exceeds 0.3V. It may be latched when the number of times is detected.
- the first overcurrent protection selection circuit 217 keeps the output at the low level and sets the output of the AND gate 218 at the low level. And the output of the first overcurrent detection circuit 222 is invalidated. That is, the first overcurrent protection is not selected (released).
- the first overcurrent protection is set. The If you choose not to reach 4V, the first overcurrent protection is unset. Further, as shown in FIG. 3, by connecting a Zener diode D4 having a Zener voltage of less than 4V to the soft start terminal SS, the voltage of the soft start terminal SS does not reach 4V even after the soft start operation is completed. Therefore, the first overcurrent protection is not set.
- setting / non-setting of the first overcurrent protection function is selected at the time after the soft start period is ended, depending on the resistance value of the external resistor Rss.
- the output of the second overcurrent detection circuit 223 becomes a high level, and the peak of the current that flows by turning off the switching element Q1 rapidly. Limit the value to prevent damage to the circuit element due to the current peak value. That is, the second overcurrent protection function is realized.
- the IC can be reduced in size. Further, by effectively using the IC terminal, it is possible to improve the functionality of the IC.
- the overcurrent protection function can be set / not set only by connecting a Zener diode as a peripheral circuit to the IC terminal. There is no adverse effect on the normal operation of the IC.
- the external circuit connected to the soft start terminal SS is a voltage clamp circuit using a Zener diode.
- the external circuit may be any one of a resistor, a transistor, and an operational amplifier other than the Zener diode.
- 6 and 7 are circuit diagrams of the switching power supply devices 312A and 312B according to the second embodiment of the present invention.
- the switching power supply devices 312A and 312B include a switching control IC 200 corresponding to the switching control circuit of the present invention.
- the secondary side of the transformer T is a forward type. 6 and 7 differ in the connection position of the primary-side resonance capacitor Cr.
- the rectifying / smoothing circuit including the diodes Ds and Df, the inductor Lro, and the capacitor Co may be provided on the secondary side of the transformer T, and the forward method may be used. Since the primary side resonance capacitor Cr only needs to be inserted in series in a closed loop formed when the high side switching element Q2 is turned on, the capacitor is connected to the drain of the switching element Q2 as shown in FIG. - a difference from the switching power supply device 304A shown in FIG. 2 is that a simple forward converter is configured without providing the inductor Lr, the capacitor Cr, and the second switching element Q2.
- the present invention can be similarly applied to the converter and has the same effect.
- 9 and 10 are circuit diagrams of the switching power supply devices 314A and 314B according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention.
- the switching power supply devices 314A and 314B include a switching control IC 200 corresponding to the switching control circuit of the present invention.
- the secondary side of the transformer T is a flyback type.
- 9 and 10 are different in the connection position of the primary-side resonance capacitor Cr.
- a rectifying / smoothing circuit including the diode Ds and the capacitor Co may be provided on the secondary side of the transformer T to adopt a flyback method. Since the primary side resonance capacitor Cr only needs to be inserted in series in a closed loop formed when the high side switching element Q2 is turned on, the capacitor is connected to the drain of the switching element Q2 as shown in FIG. Cr may be connected in series.
- FIG. 11 is a circuit diagram of a switching power supply device 315 according to the fifth embodiment of the present invention.
- the switching power supply device 315 includes a switching control IC 200 corresponding to the switching control circuit of the present invention.
- the secondary side of the transformer T is a flyback type.
- a difference from the switching power supply device 314A shown in FIG. 9 is that a simple flyback converter is configured without providing the inductor Lr, the capacitor Cr, and the second switching element Q2. As described above, the present invention can be similarly applied to a simple flyback converter, and has the same effect.
- the first overcurrent protection is performed when an overcurrent state in which the current flowing through the switching element exceeds a predetermined current value is detected for a predetermined time. Is not limited to continuously detecting overcurrent over a predetermined time.
- the first overcurrent protection may be performed when the current value is read at a predetermined time interval and the overcurrent state is counted a predetermined number of times or more.
- the converter system of the switching power supply device of the present invention is not limited to an isolated converter, and may be a non-insulated converter. Further, the present invention can be applied not only to the half bridge type but also to the full bridge type.
