Definitions
- the present invention relates to an improvement of a motorcycle provided with an intake duct for introducing outside air to an air cleaner.
- an air cleaner is provided below the main frame and at the center of the vehicle width, and left and right intake ducts extend upward from the air cleaner from the air cleaner.
- the left and right intake ducts are disposed on the left and right of the main frame and are accommodated within the width of the air cleaner.
- the inlets of the left and right intake ducts open toward the rear of the vehicle and towards the driver.
- the intake port of the intake duct is directed to the driver sitting behind the air cleaner, the intake noise leaking from the intake port can be easily transmitted to the driver.
- Patent Document 1 As a countermeasure, as disclosed in Patent Document 1, a structure is adopted in which the intake noise leaking from the intake port is reduced by making the intake duct meander in an S-shape to increase the pipe length of the intake duct.
- making the intake duct S-shaped complicates the structure and also increases the intake resistance.
- Patent No. 3537817 gazette
- An object of the present invention is to provide a motorcycle provided with an air cleaner which can suppress an increase in intake resistance and can reduce an intake noise transmitted to a driver's ear with a simpler structure. Do.
- a motorcycle including a head pipe, a main frame extending obliquely downward from the head pipe, and a main frame disposed below the main frame and supported by the main frame.
- An air cleaner disposed between the engine and the main frame and supported by the main frame, an intake duct for guiding the outside air to the air cleaner, and an operation disposed between the main frame and the air cleaner on the left and right
- a leg shield located in front of a person's leg, the leg shield comprising a front face facing the front of the vehicle and a rear face connected to the front face and facing the rear of the vehicle And a space is formed between the front surface portion and the rear surface portion, and the intake duct extends from the air cleaner to the leg shield. Only with extending and has an inlet opening into said space, the motorcycle is provided.
- the air intake duct provided in the air cleaner extends from the air cleaner toward the leg shields disposed on the left and right of the air cleaner.
- the left and right leg shields are provided on the outer side of the air cleaner and away from the center of the vehicle width so as to correspond to the left and right legs of the driver. For this reason, the intake port of the intake duct is positioned outside the air cleaner in the vehicle width direction, and is disposed sufficiently away from the center of the vehicle width in the vehicle width direction.
- the intake port of the intake duct is located at a distance from the center of the vehicle width outside in the vehicle width direction. That is, the air intake port of the air intake duct is far from the driver's ear, and the noise of intake transmitted to the driver's ear can be reduced. As a result, it is not necessary to make the intake duct S-shaped, and the intake noise transmitted to the driver's ear can be reduced with a simple structure. Furthermore, since the intake duct can have a simple structure instead of the S-shape, an increase in intake resistance can be suppressed.
- the intake port of the intake duct opens into the space formed in the leg shield, the intake sound coming out of the intake port is attenuated in the space in the leg shield and the intake sound transmitted to the driver is Every reduction is possible. Therefore, according to the present invention, it is possible to obtain a motorcycle capable of reducing intake noise and suppressing intake resistance.
- the intake duct extends diagonally downward from the air cleaner to the rear of the vehicle, and the intake opening opens obliquely to the rear of the vehicle. Therefore, the direction of the intake port is directed to the ground. Since the intake port does not face the driver's ear, the intake noise transmitted to the driver can be further reduced.
- the rear surface portion is disposed rearward of the intake duct in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and is inclined obliquely downward. Therefore, since the rear surface portion of the leg shield is inclined in the same direction as the direction of the intake duct and inclined downward, it is possible to lengthen the intake duct while suppressing an increase in size of the leg shield in the vehicle longitudinal direction.
- the rear surface portion of the leg shield includes a communication port formed to communicate the space formed in the leg shield with the outside.
- the communication port is provided on the rear surface portion, the outside air can be sufficiently taken into the space in the leg shield. If the communication port is provided at the front of the leg shield, foreign matter such as dust rolled up by the front wheel located in front of the leg shield is likely to enter the space. In this respect, in the present invention, since the communication port is provided on the rear surface portion of the leg shield, it is difficult for foreign matter wound up by the front wheel located in front of the leg shield to enter the space from the communication port.
- the communication port is disposed below the air inlet. That is, the position of the communication port provided on the rear surface portion of the leg shield and in communication with the outside is different from the position of the intake port of the intake duct in the height direction. If the position of the communication port and the position of the intake port are provided at substantially the same position in the height direction, the intake noise coming out of the intake port is easily transmitted to the driver through the communication port. Become.
- the communication port is disposed below the air inlet, so it is possible to reduce the intake noise transmitted to the driver. Furthermore, since the intake port is provided above the communication port, it is possible to make it difficult to suck in foreign substances such as dust that has entered from the communication port.
- the air cleaner includes a shielding plate closing a gap between an opening formed in the front surface of the leg shield and an outer edge of an air cleaner case constituting a part of the air cleaner,
- the intake port is disposed at a position rearward of the shielding plate. Therefore, the shielding plate can prevent foreign matter such as dust rolled up by the front wheels from flowing to the rear of the air cleaner. Furthermore, since the intake port is disposed at the vehicle rear position relative to the shielding plate, foreign matter such as dust rolled up by the front wheel can be made less likely to enter through the intake port.
- the shielding plate has a first cutout cut in a semicircular shape, and the front surface is a second cutout cut in a semicircular shape to face the first cutout.
- the intake duct extends rearward between the first and second notches toward the rear of the vehicle. If the first and second notches are not provided, it is necessary to extend the intake duct to the outside of the shielding plate and then to the rear of the vehicle. For this reason, there is a possibility that the enlargement in the vehicle width direction may be caused.
- the shield plate is provided with the first notch
- the leg shield is provided with the second notch
- the intake duct is passed between the first and second notches. Can be passed near the side surface of the air cleaner case, and the air cleaner case and the leg shield can be disposed close to each other in the vehicle width direction, and downsizing can be achieved in the vehicle width direction.
