Abstract

Die vorliegenden Erfindung betrifft einen Schalenkatalysator, enthaltend ein Aktivmetall ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Ruthenium, Rhodium, Palladium, Platin und Mischungen davon, aufgebracht auf ein Trägermaterial enthaltend Siliziumdioxid, wobei das Porenvolumen des Trägermaterials 0,6 bis 1,0 ml/g, bestimmt durch Hg- Porosimetrie, beträgt, die BET-Oberfläche 280 bis 500 m2/g beträgt, und mindestens 90% der vorhandenen Poren einen Durchmesser von 6 bis 12 nm aufweisen, ein Verfahren zur Herstellung dieses Schalenkatalysators, ein Verfahren zur Hydrierung einer organischen Verbindung, die mindestens eine hydrierbare Gruppe enthält unter Verwendung des Schalenkatalysators, sowie die Verwendung des Schalenkatalysators zur Hydrierung einer organischen Verbindung.
