Definitions
- the present invention relates to a control device such as a lithium ion secondary battery used in a hybrid vehicle or an electric vehicle. More specifically, the present invention relates to a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery system and a vehicle that suppress deterioration of a lithium ion secondary battery or the like due to high-rate charge / discharge.
- the secondary battery repeatedly charges and discharges. For example, in a secondary battery mounted on a hybrid vehicle or an electric vehicle, charging / discharging (high rate charging / discharging) with a larger current is performed. For this reason, development is progressing to adopt a non-aqueous electrolyte type lithium ion secondary battery having high energy density and excellent high-rate charge / discharge characteristics for vehicles. However, it is known that even a non-aqueous electrolyte type lithium ion secondary battery increases its internal resistance by repeatedly charging and discharging with a larger current (for example, Patent Document 1).
- Patent Document 1 discloses a non-aqueous electrolyte type lithium ion secondary battery in which such an increase in internal resistance is suppressed.
- the electrode body is prevented from being deteriorated by disposing a conductive layer between the electrode current collector and the electrode mixture layer.
- a non-aqueous electrolyte type lithium ion secondary battery that suppresses voltage drop is disclosed.
- the non-uniform salt concentration distribution means that there is a bias in the salt concentration in the vicinity of the electrodes and in the vicinity of the intermediate point between the electrodes. This non-uniform salt concentration distribution is considered to be caused by high rate charge / discharge.
- such a deviation in salt concentration is related to the viscosity of the electrolyte, the movement speed of ions in the electrolyte, and the like.
- the salt concentration around the electrode decreases, the reaction on the electrode surface decreases unavoidably, and as a result, the internal resistance increases.
- salt concentration distribution may remain biased. Therefore, if no measures are taken, the battery performance will be reduced and the battery life will be shortened.
- Patent Document 1 As described above, the increase in internal resistance caused by the electrodes can be suppressed by conventional techniques (such as Patent Document 1) that take measures against the electrodes. However, the increase in internal resistance due to the salt concentration distribution of the electrolytic solution cannot be solved by an invention that takes measures against the electrodes (Patent Document 1, etc.).
- the present invention has been made in order to solve the problems of the conventional techniques described above. That is, the problem is that non-aqueous electrolyte type lithium that prevents the uneven distribution of salt concentration in the electrolytic solution, avoids an increase in internal resistance, and improves the durability of the non-aqueous electrolyte type lithium ion secondary battery.
- An ion secondary battery system and a vehicle using the same are provided.
- the non-aqueous electrolyte type secondary battery system of the present invention made for the purpose of solving this problem has a non-aqueous electrolyte type secondary battery and a control unit for controlling the non-aqueous electrolyte type secondary battery.
- the control unit for each predetermined period, has a charging history value Cc indicating a charging history at a current exceeding a predetermined charging threshold current Ic, and a discharging history at a current exceeding a predetermined discharging threshold current Id.
- the difference between the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd is larger than a predetermined level, the charge current or discharge current is limited thereafter.
- Such a non-aqueous electrolyte type secondary battery system can suppress the salt concentration distribution in the electrolyte from becoming non-uniform even when performing high-rate charge / discharge. For this reason, an increase in internal resistance is suppressed. Therefore, the durable life of the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery is long.
- the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery may be a non-aqueous electrolyte lithium ion secondary battery. This is because even in the non-aqueous electrolyte type lithium ion secondary battery system, it is possible to suppress uneven salt concentration distribution in the electrolyte solution due to high rate charge / discharge.
- the current limiting unit charges when the charge history value Cc is equal to or greater than a value obtained by adding a predetermined positive reference value to the discharge history value Cd.
- the current is limited, and the discharge current may be limited when the value of the discharge history value Cd is equal to or greater than a value obtained by adding a predetermined positive reference value to the charge history value Cc. This is because high-rate charging or high-rate discharging is performed in a well-balanced manner and it is possible to prevent the salt concentration distribution in the electrolyte from becoming uneven.
- the current limiting unit is configured such that the ratio of the charge history value Cc to the discharge history value Cd is greater than a first reference value that is a predetermined number of 1 or more.
- the charging current may be limited, and the discharging current may be limited when the ratio of the discharging history value Cd to the charging history value Cc is greater than a second reference value that is a predetermined number of 1 or more. This is because high-rate charging or high-rate discharging is performed in a well-balanced manner, and the salt concentration distribution in the electrolytic solution can be prevented from becoming uneven.
- the current limiting unit is configured such that the ratio of the charging history value Cc to the discharging history value Cd is equal to or less than the first reference value and the charging history value Cd is charged.
- the current limitation may not be performed. This is because when the difference between the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd is small, it may not be necessary to limit the current. This is because the current range that can be used is not narrowed without current limitation.
- Integration interval is time t when I (t) ⁇ Id (t)
- a value represented by a predetermined threshold current may be used as Ic (t). This is because it is possible to numerically evaluate how much high-rate charging and high-rate discharging has been performed.
- I (t) dt
- Integration interval is time t when I (t) ⁇ Id (t)
- a value represented by a predetermined threshold current may be used as Id (t). This is because it is still possible to numerically evaluate how much high-rate charging and high-rate discharging has been performed.
- the charge / discharge history value calculation unit calculates the charge history value Cc calculated this time to the sum of the charge history values Cc calculated before the previous time as the charge history value Cc.
- the cumulative discharge history value SCd obtained by adding the discharge history value Cd calculated this time to the sum of the discharge history values Cd calculated before the previous time may be used as the discharge history value Cd. This is because it is possible to numerically evaluate how much high-rate charging and high-rate discharging has been performed after the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery is manufactured.
- the current limiting unit replaces the current value when the current value when the current limitation is not performed exceeds a predetermined limit value. It is even better to pass a current limit. This is because high rate charge / discharge can be limited.
- the current limiting unit may flow a current having a value obtained by multiplying a current value when current limitation is not performed by a coefficient smaller than a predetermined one. . This is because the high rate charge / discharge can be limited.
- the current limiting unit replaces the current value when the current value when the current limit is not performed exceeds a predetermined limit value, A current corresponding to the sum of the limit value and a value obtained by multiplying the current value exceeding the limit value by a coefficient smaller than 1 may be passed. This is because the high rate charge / discharge can be limited.
- the current limiting unit sets the value of the discharge threshold current Id used for the next measurement larger than the previous value when limiting the charging current.
- the value of the charging threshold current Ic used for the next measurement may be set larger than the previous value. This is because a wide current region that can be used for charging and discharging can be set.
- the charge / discharge history value calculation unit calculates the charging threshold current Ic as an absolute value that decreases as the SOC value increases, and an absolute value as the SOC value decreases.
- the absolute value increases as the absolute value.
- the absolute value decreases as the absolute value.
- the discharge threshold current Id increases as the absolute value. It is more preferable to use a smaller absolute value as the value of is smaller, a larger absolute value as the battery temperature is higher, and a smaller absolute value as the battery temperature is lower. This is because the charge threshold current Ic and the discharge threshold current Id that are closely related to the salt concentration distribution in the electrolytic solution can be set. As a result, current limitation that more reflects the salt concentration distribution can be performed.
- the vehicle according to the present invention includes a motor, a non-aqueous electrolyte type secondary battery, and a control unit that controls the non-aqueous electrolyte type secondary battery, and the control unit is provided at predetermined intervals.
- the charging history value Cc indicating the charging history at a current exceeding the predetermined charging threshold current Ic and the discharging history value Cd indicating the discharging history at a current exceeding the predetermined discharging threshold current Id are calculated.
- a discharge history value calculation unit, and a current limiting unit that limits the charge current or the discharge current after that when the difference between the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd is larger than a predetermined level.
- the unit limits the charging current when the charging history value Cc is larger than the discharging history value Cd, and limits the discharging current when the charging history value Cc is smaller than the discharging history value Cd.
- Such a vehicle can suppress the distribution of salt concentration in the electrolyte from becoming non-uniform even when performing high-rate charge / discharge. For this reason, an increase in internal resistance is suppressed. Therefore, the durability life of the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery in the vehicle is long.
- the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery system includes a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery and a control unit that controls the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery. - a charge / discharge history value calculation unit, and a salt concentration estimation unit for estimating a distribution of salt concentration in the electrolyte of the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery from the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd. Is.
- Such a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery system can estimate the distribution of salt concentration in the electrolyte. Thereby, the arrival of the endurance life of the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery can be determined.
It has a salt concentration estimation part which estimates distribution of salt concentration in the electrolyte solution of a nonaqueous electrolyte type secondary battery from a discharge history value calculation part, charge history value Cc, and discharge history value Cd. - FIG. 2 shows the hybrid system 10 shown in FIG. 1 with the battery 50 and the PCU 200 extracted.
- the battery system 100 is a non-aqueous electrolyte type lithium ion secondary battery system having a battery 50 and a PCU 200. Therefore, the battery system 100 constitutes a part of the hybrid system 10 and the hybrid vehicle 1.
- PCU 200 is a control unit having a battery control unit 151, a voltage measurement unit 152, a current measurement unit 153, a temperature measurement unit 154, and a memory 155 in addition to the inverter 70, as shown in FIG. 2.

- the hybrid vehicle 1 travels by a hybrid system 10 having two types of power sources, that is, an engine 20 and a motor 30.
- Driving systems using the hybrid system 10 include traveling using only the engine 20 as a driving source, traveling using only the motor 30 as a driving source, and traveling using the engine 20 and the motor 30 as driving sources.
- the driving mode is further subdivided. By properly using these driving modes, the hybrid vehicle 1 with high energy efficiency and low fuel consumption is realized. Therefore, typical driving modes will be described below.
- the hybrid vehicle 1 starts by driving only the motor 30. This is because the motor can generate a large torque even when the rotation is started.
- the hybrid vehicle 1 travels by driving only the motor 30 even during low-speed travel. This is because the driving efficiency of the engine 20 is low at the time of starting and running at a low speed.
- the engine 20 and the motor 30 are used together as a driving source. At this time, in response to an operation signal from an accelerator pedal or the like, the engine 20 and the motor 30 are driven so that the PCU 200 can maintain optimum energy efficiency.
- the engine 20 and the motor 30 are used together as a drive source. Then, a larger amount of electric power is supplied from the battery 50 to the motor 30 for strong acceleration. On the other hand, at the time of braking such as deceleration, electric power is generated using the motor 30 as a generator. This is because the electricity thus generated is collected in the battery 50.
- the PCU 200 commands power supply from the battery 50 to the motor 30 and the like. Further, the PCU 200 performs current limiting in order to prevent an increase in the internal resistance of the battery cell due to high rate charge / discharge. The current limiting method in that case will be described in detail later.
- the motor 30 and the generator 40 appropriately generate power in each traveling mode, and charge the battery 50 via the inverter 70.
- the battery 50 is repeatedly charged and discharged according to such a running mode.
- the repetition of the charging / discharging is illustrated in FIG. FIG. 3 shows a change with time of the current value I (t) of the battery 50 measured by the current measuring unit 153.
- the horizontal axis in FIG. 3 represents time [seconds].
- the vertical axis represents the current value [A].
- a positive current value indicates that charging is being performed, and a negative current value indicates that discharging is being performed. This current value changes frequently. That is, the PCU 200 realizes the optimum traveling of the hybrid vehicle 1 equipped with the hybrid system 10 in response to the operation signals from the accelerator, the brake, the shift lever, and the like.
- the charging / discharging current of the battery 50 is limited in various driving modes. This is to prevent the salt concentration distribution from becoming uneven as will be described later. Therefore, the current limiting method will be described below.
- the battery system 100 is configured to limit the current during charging or discharging in order to avoid the uneven concentration of salt concentration due to use in high-rate charging / discharging.
- the charge history value Cc described below is compared with the discharge history value Cd, and the current is limited when the difference is larger than a predetermined level.
- the charge history value Cc is quantified as a history of a period in which the current value I (t) measured by the current measuring unit 153 is equal to or greater than the value of the charge threshold current Ic (see FIG. 3) that is a preset threshold value. It is a thing.
- the discharge history value Cd is a numerical value of a history of a period in which the current value I (t) output from the current measuring unit 153 is equal to or less than the value of the discharge threshold current Id (see FIG. 3) that is a preset threshold value. It is a thing. For this reason, there are many variations in the definition of the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd. Therefore, it illustrates below. In order to compare these values, both the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd are defined as positive or zero values using absolute values.
- FIG. 4 is a simplified drawing of the charge / discharge waveform shown in FIG.
- the discharge history value Cd As the discharge history value Cd, a portion of the discharge current I (t) exceeding the discharge threshold current Id, that is, an integrated value of I (t) ⁇ Id can be used.
- the integration interval is a time when I (t) ⁇ Id.
- the discharge history value Cd is the sum of the integral values of the area hatched with a slash in FIG.
- the charge history value Cc may be a time integration of the current I (t) itself at the time when the charging current I (t) exceeds the charging threshold current Ic.
- the discharge history value Cd may also be an integrated value of the current I (t) itself at the time when the discharge current I (t) exceeds the discharge threshold current Id.
- the charging history value Cc (Third example of charge history value Cc and discharge history value Cd)
- the time Tc itself during which the charging current I (t) exceeds the charging threshold current Ic
- the discharge history value Cd the time Td during which the discharge current I (t) exceeds the discharge threshold current Id can be used.
- the integration interval is a time when I (t) ⁇ Id.
- the charging history value Cc may be obtained by multiplying the time Tc when the charging current I (t) exceeds the charging threshold current Ic by the value of the charging threshold current Ic.
- the discharge history value Cd can also be obtained by multiplying the time Td when the discharge current I (t) exceeds the discharge threshold current Id by the value of the discharge threshold current Id.
- Cd
- the charging history value Cc may be obtained by multiplying the time Tc when the charging current I (t) exceeds the charging threshold current Ic by the value of the maximum current value Imax within the measurement time.
- the discharge history value Cd a value obtained by multiplying the time Td when the discharge current I (t) exceeds the discharge threshold current Id by the value of the minimum current value Imin within the measurement time can be adopted.
- ⁇ Tc (9) Imax: Maximum current value within the measurement time Cd
- the charge history value Cc is a value obtained by quantifying the charge history during the period Tc that is a current value equal to or greater than the charge threshold current Ic.
- the discharge history value Cd is a value obtained by quantifying the discharge history during a period Td that is a current value equal to or less than the discharge threshold current Id.
- the measurement period at this time is, for example, a period from when the ignition key is turned on to when it is off. Then, the measurement starts when it is on, and ends when it is off. It may also be a predetermined length of time such as 1 minute or 1 hour.
- the values of the charging threshold current Ic (see FIG. 3) and the discharging threshold current Id (see FIG. 3) are read from the memory 155 (S102).
- the charge threshold current Ic and the discharge threshold current Id are predetermined current values. FIG.
- FIG. 3 illustrates the change over time of charge / discharge in the battery 50, the charge threshold current Ic, and the discharge threshold current Id. Charging is performed during a period when the measured current I (t) is a positive value, and discharging is performed during a period when the measured current I (t) is a negative value.
- the charging threshold current Ic is shown as 75A
- the discharging threshold current Id is shown as -75A.
- the charge / discharge history value calculation unit calculates the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd (S103).
- the charge history value Cc any one of the aforementioned formulas (1), (3), (5), (7), and (9) can be adopted. Further, any one of the above-described formulas (2), (4), (6), (8), and (10) can be adopted as the discharge history value Cd.
- the measurement of the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd is continuously performed until the end of the measurement in S104 (S104). Although the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd are calculated simultaneously with the measurement of the current value I (t), the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd may be calculated temporarily after the measurement is completed.
- the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd are compared (S105). If the charge history value Cc is larger than the discharge history value Cd (S105: Yes), the current limiting unit limits the current value on the charging side (S106). On the other hand, if the charge history value Cc is equal to or less than the discharge history value Cd (S105: No), the current limiting unit limits the current value on the discharge side (S107). The current limit (S106, S107) performed here is applied to the next measurement time.
- the current limitation performed here aims at reducing the difference between the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd that should be calculated in S103 of the current control flow of FIG. 5 executed in the next measurement period. Is what you do.
- the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd calculated in S103 are recalculated assuming that the current is limited.
- a current limit under a condition that makes the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd equal can be set and applied next time.
- a rank may be set in advance according to the difference (Cc ⁇ Cd) between the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd, and current limitation corresponding to the rank may be performed.
- FIG. 6 is a diagram showing a case where the current limit is set on the charging current side in S106.
- the broken line indicates the current value before the current limit is applied.
- the solid line shows the current value after current limitation.
- FIG. 6 is a simplified version of the waveform of FIG. 3 as in FIG.
- the current limitation is performed by setting a threshold value and cutting off more current. That is, the limit threshold current Icut is set so that no current exceeding the limit threshold current Icut flows.
- the limit threshold current Icut is defined separately from the charge threshold current Ic. Therefore, in S106, when the current value when the current limit is not performed exceeds the limit threshold current Icut which is a predetermined limit value, the limit threshold current Icut is supplied instead of the current value.
- FIG. 7 is a diagram for explaining a current limiting method different from FIG.
- the broken line indicates the current value before the current limit is applied.
- the solid line shows the current value after current limitation.
- 7 is a simplified version of the waveform of FIG. 3 as in FIG.
- the current limitation may be performed by suppressing the output as a whole as shown in FIG. For example, the output can be reduced by 5%.
- the current limiter flows a current having a value obtained by multiplying a current value when current limit is not performed by a coefficient smaller than 1 set in advance.
- the excess when the current value when the current limit is not performed exceeds a limit threshold current Icut that is a predetermined limit value, the excess may be multiplied by a coefficient smaller than a predetermined one.
- FIGS. 6 and 7 show the case where the current on the charging side is limited (S106), but the current limitation is similarly performed on the case where the current is limited on the discharging side (S107). be able to.
- the current limiting may be performed by setting a limiting threshold current Icut during charging and suppressing the output as a whole during discharging. Then, the current may be limited by suppressing the output as a whole at the time of charging and setting the limiting threshold current Icut at the time of discharging.
- the charging threshold current Ic and the discharging threshold current Id are treated as constant values.
- the charging threshold current Ic and the discharging threshold current Id may be changed as appropriate. For example, as shown in FIG. 8, when the charge history value Cc is larger than the discharge history value Cd (S105: Yes), the current on the charging side is limited in S106, and the magnitude of the discharge threshold current Id is adjusted accordingly. May be increased (S108). This setting is applied from the next measurement period. Further, as shown in FIG. 8, when the charge history value Cc is equal to or less than the discharge history value Cd (S105: No), the discharge-side current is limited in S107, and the magnitude of the charge threshold current Ic is adjusted accordingly. May be increased (S109). This setting is also applied from the next measurement period. In this case, the charging threshold current Ic (t) and the discharging threshold current Id (t) change with the passage of time.

- the current is always limited to either the charging current or the discharging current.
- the difference between the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd is small, it may not be necessary to limit the current. - the nonaqueous electrolyte type lithium ion secondary battery system provides a current limit in charging or discharging when high-rate charging or discharging is continuously performed. Is. - the current limiting flow of this embodiment is repeated every measurement period. However, after the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd are once measured, the same current limitation may be continuously applied without performing the measurement again.
- a fourth embodiment will be described.
- the mechanical configuration of the hybrid vehicle 1, the hybrid system 10, the PCU 200, and the battery system 100 according to this embodiment is the same as that of the first embodiment.
- the difference from the first embodiment is that different values are used in various environments as the charging threshold current Ic and the discharging threshold current Id.
- the various environments are battery cell temperature and SOC (State of Charge). This is because the current value that changes the distribution of the salt concentration in the electrolyte also changes depending on the SOC and the temperature of the battery cell.
- the charge threshold current Ic and the discharge threshold current Id used in this embodiment depend on the battery cell temperature and SOC.
- the values of the charge threshold current Ic and the discharge threshold current Id depending on the battery cell temperature and SOC are stored in the memory 155 as a battery temperature-SOC dependency map. Therefore, the battery control unit 151 can read out the optimum charging threshold current Ic and discharging threshold current Id from the measured battery temperature and SOC. And the point which calculates charge history value Cc and discharge history value Cd based on it is the same as that of a 1st form etc. Further, the setting method of the charging threshold current Ic and the discharging threshold current Id, which will be described later, is used for creating a battery temperature-SOC dependency map stored in the memory 155. Therefore, the setting method of the charging threshold current Ic and the discharging threshold current Id is not an essential constituent requirement of the battery system 100, the hybrid system 10, and the hybrid vehicle 1.
- the current control method of this embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. First, measurement is started (S401). Next, the temperature of each battery cell measured by the temperature measurement unit 154 is acquired (S402). On the other hand, SOC (State of Charge) is also acquired (S402). The SOC value is recorded in the memory 155 at regular intervals. Next, the charge threshold current Ic and the discharge threshold current Id are read from the battery temperature-SOC dependency map (S403).
- FIG. 12 is a battery temperature-SOC dependence map of the charging threshold current Ic. The obtained battery cell temperature is averaged, and the charging threshold current Ic corresponding to the condition is read out from the temperature average value and the SOC value.
- FIG. 13 is a battery temperature-SOC dependence map of the discharge threshold current Id. Similarly, the discharge threshold current Id is read out.
- the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd are calculated (S404).
- the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd are the same as those used in the first embodiment.
- the measurement is finished (S405).
- the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd are compared (S406). If the charging history value Cc is larger than the discharging history value Cd (S406: Yes), the charging-side current is limited (S407). If the charge history value Cc is less than or equal to the discharge history value Cd (S406: No), the discharge-side current is limited (S408). This completes one cycle of current limiting.
- the charge threshold current Ic and the discharge threshold current Id have a closer relationship with changes in the distribution of salt concentration in the electrolyte.
- FIG. 14 is a graph showing the characteristics of the battery cell voltage over time when the constant current Iconst is continuously discharged.
- the horizontal axis represents the square root of time t ( ⁇ t) [ ⁇ sec].
- the vertical axis represents the battery cell voltage [V].
- the battery cell voltage continues to decrease from the start of discharge. In particular, immediately after the start of discharge, the voltage decreases rapidly (section A). Then, after the rapid decrease, the voltage gradually decreases (section B). This section B is a section where the charge transfer process occurs. Thereafter, the voltage decreases more rapidly than section B (section C). This section C is a section where a mass transfer process (diffusion process) occurs.
- a) shows a region where the value of the square root ( ⁇ t) of time t is 1 to 1.5. That is, the time when about 1 to 2 seconds have elapsed from the start of discharge is shown.
- b) shows a region where the value of the square root ( ⁇ t) of time t is 2.8 to 3.2. That is, the time when about 9 to 10 seconds have elapsed from the start of discharge is shown.
- FIG. 15 is a graph showing a change with time of the value of dV / d ⁇ t of the battery cell when the battery is continuously discharged at a constant current Iconst.
- the horizontal axis represents the square root of time t ( ⁇ t) [ ⁇ sec].
- the vertical axis represents the value of dV / d ⁇ t of the battery cell.
- Sections A to C correspond to sections A to C in FIG.
- the value of dV / d ⁇ t is a substantially constant value in the charge transfer process (section B).
- the value of dV / d ⁇ t increases. This is because, in addition to charge transfer, diffusion of ions (substances) in the electrolytic solution occurs. For this reason, when evaluated by the value of dV / d ⁇ t, it is suitable for specifying the transition from the charge transfer process (section B) to the mass transfer process (section C).
- FIG. 16 is a graph for explaining a change in the value of [dV / d ⁇ t (b)] / [dV / d ⁇ t (a)] when the constant current Iconst is changed.
- the value of dV / d ⁇ t (a) is within the range of section B shown in FIGS. 14 and 15 even if the value of Iconst changes.
- the value of dV / d ⁇ t (b) is in section B when the value of Iconst is small, but becomes a value within the range of section C (diffusion process) when the value of Iconst increases.
- the discharge threshold current Id may be a current value in which the value of [dV / d ⁇ t (b)] / [dV / d ⁇ t (a)] is greater than 1.
- the value of [dV / d ⁇ t (b)] / [dV / d ⁇ t (a)] actually includes noise.
- the value of [dV / d ⁇ t (b)] / [dV / d ⁇ t (a)] becomes a value larger than 1 by the noise, it may be set to Id.
- the charge threshold current Ic can be obtained from the value of [dV / d ⁇ t (b)] / [dV / d ⁇ t (a)] when charged with a constant current. .
- the graphs shown in FIGS. 14 to 16 change accordingly. That is, the current value at which the value of dV / d ⁇ t (b) moves from the section B (charge transfer process) to the section C (diffusion process) depends on the battery temperature and the SOC. That is, the charging threshold current Ic and the discharging threshold current Id depend on the battery temperature and the SOC. For this reason, a temperature-SOC dependency map is used to obtain the charging threshold current Ic and the discharging threshold current Id corresponding to changes in battery temperature and SOC.
- FIG. 17 is a graph illustrating the temperature dependence of the charging threshold current Ic and the discharging threshold current Id.
- FIG. 17 shows the temperature dependence of the charge threshold current Ic and the discharge threshold current Id when the SOC (State of Charge) is 60%.
- the absolute value of the charging threshold current Ic increases as the battery temperature increases.
- the absolute value of the charging threshold current Ic decreases as the battery temperature decreases.
- the absolute value of the discharge threshold current Id increases as the battery temperature increases.
- the absolute value of the discharge threshold current Id decreases as the battery temperature decreases. As the battery temperature increases, the amount of change in the charging threshold current Ic and the discharging threshold current Id decreases.
- FIG. 18 is a graph showing the SOC dependency of the charging threshold current Ic and the discharging threshold current Id.
- FIG. 18 shows the SOC dependency of the charging threshold current Ic and the discharging threshold current Id when the average temperature of the battery cells is 25 ° C.
- the larger the SOC value the smaller the absolute value of the charging threshold current Ic.
- the absolute value of the charging threshold current Ic increases as the SOC value decreases.
- the absolute value of the discharge threshold current Id increases as the SOC value increases. The smaller the SOC value, the smaller the absolute value of the discharge threshold current Id.
- the battery temperature-SOC dependency map of the charging threshold current Ic shown in FIG. 12 can be created from the temperature dependency shown in FIG. 17 and the SOC dependency shown in FIG.
- the absolute value of the charging threshold current Ic decreases as the SOC value increases, and the charging threshold current Ic decreases as the SOC value decreases.
- the absolute value of becomes larger see FIG. 18.
- the SOC is constant (column component)
- the absolute value of the charging threshold current Ic increases as the battery temperature increases, and the absolute value of the charging threshold current Ic decreases as the battery temperature decreases (see FIG. 17).
- the battery temperature-SOC dependence map of the discharge threshold current Id shown in FIG. 13 can be created.
- the absolute value of the discharge threshold current Id increases as the SOC value increases, and the discharge threshold current Id decreases as the SOC value decreases.
- the absolute value of becomes smaller see FIG. 18.
- the SOC is constant (column component)
- the absolute value of the discharge threshold current Id increases as the battery temperature increases, and the absolute value of the discharge threshold current Id decreases as the battery temperature decreases (see FIG. 17).
- the charge threshold current Ic and the discharge threshold current Id are read from these battery temperature-SOC dependency maps. As described above, in this embodiment, the charge threshold current Ic and the discharge threshold current Id that are different for each measurement period are read out. Therefore, the charging threshold current Ic (t) and the discharging threshold current Id (t) are values that change with time.
- current limitation is applied to either the charging current or the discharging current depending on the magnitude relationship between the charging history value Cc and the discharging history value Cd.
- the current limitation may not be performed when the difference between the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd is small as in the second embodiment.
- the current limit may be set in consideration of the cumulative charge history value SCc and the cumulative discharge history value SCd. Then, the current limit may be set by a plurality of charge history values Cc and discharge history values Cd.
- the nonaqueous electrolyte type lithium ion secondary battery system provides a current limit in charging or discharging when high-rate charging or discharging is continuously performed. Is. For this reason, it has become possible to avoid uneven salt concentration distribution. As a result, the battery system 100, the hybrid system 10, and the hybrid vehicle 1 having a long life are realized by preventing the increase in internal resistance by avoiding the non-uniformity of the salt concentration distribution.
- non-aqueous electrolyte type lithium ion secondary batteries but also non-aqueous electrolyte type secondary batteries having a higher electrolyte viscosity than water and a slow ion diffusion rate can be applied similarly. .
- the travel mode of the hybrid vehicle is an example, and is not limited to the travel mode described above.
- the non-aqueous electrolyte type lithium ion secondary battery is applied to the hybrid vehicle, but is not limited to the hybrid vehicle. That is, you may use for other vehicles, such as an electric vehicle and a fuel cell vehicle.
- the charging threshold current Ic and the discharging threshold current Id are used, but power may be used as a threshold instead.
- the current limiting flow of this embodiment is repeated every measurement period. However, after the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd are once measured, the same current limitation may be continuously applied without performing the measurement again.
- a fifth embodiment will be described.
- the mechanical configuration of the hybrid vehicle 1, the hybrid system 10, the PCU 200, and the battery system 100 according to this embodiment is the same as that of the first embodiment.
- the difference from the first embodiment is that the memory 155 stores a salt concentration distribution estimation map in the electrolyte corresponding to the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd.
- the battery control unit 151 and the memory 155 are salt concentration estimation units that estimate the salt concentration distribution in the electrolyte solution of the battery 50 from the values of the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd.
- the battery control part 151 has a charge / discharge history value calculation part similarly to the 1st form. Therefore, the PCU 200 of this embodiment has a charge / discharge history value calculation unit and a salt concentration estimation unit.
- the ratio Rcd of the charge history value Cc to the discharge history value Cd Rc / Cd Is used. Then, the salt concentration in the electrolytic solution is estimated by associating the ratio Rcd with the model of the salt concentration distribution in the electrolytic solution.
- the memory 155 has a one-dimensional table that associates the ratio Rcd with the model of the salt concentration distribution in the electrolyte.
- the conceptual diagram which shows the model of salt concentration distribution is shown in FIG.19 and FIG.20.
- the memory 155 stores numerical data of the concentration of the electrolytic solution shown in FIGS.
- FIG. 19 is a conceptual diagram showing the distribution of salt concentration of one secondary battery constituting the battery 50, that is, a battery cell. Both ends of the battery cell are electrodes.
- FIG. 19 shows the distribution of salt concentration in the case of excessive charging.
- the salt concentration is remarkably reduced near the electrode, and the reaction hardly occurs on the electrode surface. For this reason, the internal resistance of a battery becomes high.
- the salt concentration is high near the middle of the electrode.
- the salt concentration is high, the viscosity of the electrolyte increases. For this reason, the moving speed of ions is reduced, which causes an increase in internal resistance.
- FIG. 20 is a conceptual diagram showing the distribution of salt concentration when the use is continued due to excessive discharge.
- the salt concentration is remarkably increased near the electrode. Therefore, reaction is likely to occur on the electrode surface.
- the ion movement speed near the electrode is small. For this reason, even in this case, the internal resistance increases.
- the salt concentration estimation unit acquires the temperature of the battery cell, the voltage value output from the battery 50, and the current value via the battery control unit 151. Then, a charge history value Cc and a discharge history value Cd are acquired from the battery control unit 151. The charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd are values calculated at a predetermined time.
- the charge history value Cc used at this time can be selected from the above-described formulas (1), (3), (5), (7), and (9).
- the discharge history value Cd can be selected from the aforementioned equations (2), (4), (6), (8), and (10).
- the battery control unit 151 calculates the ratio Rcd of the charging history value Cc shown in the following equation to the discharging history value Cd.
- Rcd Cc / Cd
- the salt concentration distribution is read from a one-dimensional table in which the ratio Rcd stored in the memory 155 is associated with the salt concentration distribution. Thereby, the salt concentration distribution is estimated. Then, the estimated salt concentration distribution is written in the memory 155. Thereby, the estimated salt concentration distribution at that time is stored. The estimated endurance life of the battery 50 can be determined from the estimated salt concentration distribution.
- the salt concentration estimation table may be a two-dimensional table created with two components of the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value Cd. Further, a table considering the cumulative charge history value SCc and the cumulative discharge history value SCd may be used. Furthermore, a table that takes into consideration battery temperature, SOC, and the like can be used.
- the non-aqueous electrolyte type lithium ion secondary battery system according to the present embodiment is continuously charged or discharged at a high rate, the charge history value Cc and the discharge history value are obtained.
- the salt concentration distribution of the electrolytic solution is estimated from Cd. In this way, by avoiding the non-uniformity of the salt concentration distribution, an increase in internal resistance is prevented, and the battery system 100, the hybrid system 10, and the hybrid vehicle 1 having a long life are realized. It is also possible to avoid the current region used for charging / discharging from becoming narrow.
- the non-aqueous electrolyte type lithium ion secondary battery is applied to a hybrid vehicle, but is not limited to the hybrid vehicle.

このため,電流I(t)を充電電流I(t)と放電電流I(t)とに分けることができる。
Cc=|∫[I(t)-Ic]dt| ………(1)
Cd=|∫[I(t)-Id]dt| ………(2)
Cc=|∫I(t)dt| ………(3)
Cd=|∫I(t)dt| ………(4)
Cc=Tc=∫dt ………(5)
Cd=Td=∫dt ………(6)
Cc=|Ic|・Tc ………(7)
Cd=|Id|・Td ………(8)
Cc=|Imax|・Tc ………(9)
Imax:
Cd=|Imin|・Td ………(10)
Imin:
Ir(t)=I(t)・δ
δ<1
Ir(t)=[I(t)-Icut]・δ+Icut
δ<1
Icut:
SCc=ΣCc
SCd=ΣCd
SCc=ΣCc
SCd=ΣCd
SCc/SCd > γ
SCd/SCc > γ
種々の環境とは,電池セルの温度やSOC(State of Charge)である。
Rcd=Cc/Cd
Rcd=Cc/Cd
