第3の発明は、第1または2の発明において、前記計量部のそれぞれに対し、計量部とノズルを連通する第一位置および計量部と貯留部とを連通する第二位置を有する切替弁を設け、各切替弁の位置を同時に切り替える一のバルブ駆動装置を設けたことを特徴とする。
第4の発明は、第3の発明において、前記プランジャー駆動装置および前記バルブ駆動装置を前記複数の計量部に対して鉛直方向に配置したことを特徴とする。
第5の発明は、第3または4の発明において、前記切替弁が配設されたブロックを設け、当該ブロックに前記貯留容器から各切替弁に液体材料を分岐して流入する流路を設けたことを特徴とする。
第6の発明は、第5の発明において、前記計量部を前記ブロックに装着可能な計量管により構成し、かつ、相互に隣接して配置したことを特徴とする。
第7の発明は、第5の発明において、前記ブロックに計量部を形成したことを特徴とする。
第8の発明は、第7の発明において、前記ブロックに貯留部を形成したことを特徴とする。
第9の発明は、テーブルが設けられた架台と、架台上に延伸され、一の方向に移動可能なフレームと、を備え、当該フレームに第1ないし8のいずれかの発明に係る吐出装置が設けられた塗布装置である。
第10の発明は、貯留部からプランジャーが挿通される計量部内に液体材料を充填し、プランジャーの進出移動および進出停止を繰り返すことにより前記計量部内の液体材料を複数回にわたって吐出する液体材料の吐出方法において、複数の計量部および各計量部と一対一に対応する複数のノズルを設け、一のプランジャー駆動装置により複数のプランジャーを同時に移動させることにより全計量部内の液体材料を同時に吐出することを特徴とする液体材料の吐出方法である。
第11の発明は、第10の発明において、前記計量部のそれぞれに対し、計量部とノズルを連通する第一位置および計量部と貯留部とを連通する第二位置を有する切替弁を設け、各切替弁を一の駆動装置により同時に切り替えながら液体材料の吐出を行うことを特徴とする。
また、二の駆動源により装置を構成することができ、さらにこれを縦に配置することにより装置をスリムに構成することができる。
また、供給された液体材料を装置内で分岐して複数の計量部に導入させることができるから、貯留部内に残留する液体材料の量を減らすことができ、液体材料を無駄なく使用することができる。

前記計量部は、プランジャーの進出移動によりノズルから吐出される液体材料が一時的に貯留される空間であり、その体積は微量な液体材料を精度よく吐出するのに適した大きさに構成する。計量部を複数としたのは、一つの計量部の体積を大きくすることなく、計量部全体の体積を大きくするためである。前記計量部の構成としては、例えば、複数の計量部がバルブブロックに装着された複数の計量管であり、バルブブロックは、貯留容器から各計量管に液体材料を分岐して流入する流路を備える態様が開示される。前記計量部の他の構成としては、計量ブロックに複数の計量孔と、貯留容器から各計量孔に液体材料を分岐して流入する流路を設ける態様が開示される。いずれの態様においても、ノズルの先端の水平方向の位置は揃えて配置する。
計量部とノズルとを一対一で対応する構成としたのは、一の計量部から二のノズルに分岐して滴下する態様では、計量部内においてプランジャーにより加圧された液体材料の微妙な流体バランスにより、双方のノズルに均等に液体が流動しない場合があるためである。この点、各計量部がそれぞれノズルを有する構成とすれば、各計量部からノズルの吐出口に至るまでの流路を全て同一の閉じた形状(但し、切替弁が介在してもよい。)にすることができるので精度よく吐出を行うことが可能となる。
また、液体材料の充填時にプランジャーの先端と切替バルブまでの容量を等しくすると、計量部内を摺動するプランジャーを同時に進出して吐出を行うことにより、プランジャーの進出による流路内の体積減少を同じ割合にすることが可能である。全ての計量部を同容量とし、全てのノズルから同量の液体材料を同時に吐出するようにしてもよい。
また、プランジャーの先端部にロッドより幅広のシール部(大径の突起部)を設ければ、摺動面積が小さくなるのでプランジャーを高速に移動することが可能である。この際、計量部とノズルとを連通する流路を実質的に直線になるよう構成するのが好ましい。
また、好ましくは、前記計量部は、それぞれ切替弁を備え、各切替弁を同時に切替る駆動装置を備えることを特徴とする。切替弁は、スライド型、一方向回転型、または往復動回転型のいずれであってもよい。
本実施例の装置を、図1ないし図4により説明する。なお、図4においては、プランジャーB31の背面にプランジャーA30があり、ノズルB56の背面にノズルA55があり、バルブB58の背面にバルブA57があり、バルブ挿着孔B62の背面にバルブ挿着孔A61がある。
本実施例の吐出装置は、ベース10に板A11、板B12及び板C13が取り付けられてフレームが構成され、前記フレームに、[1]プランジャー駆動部、[2]プランジャー部、[3]液送部および[4]バルブ部が配設される。
プランジャー駆動部は、板B12に固定されるモータA20の回転駆動により、スライダー22が、ベース10に固定されるスライドベース21上をスライドベース21延伸方向に移動自在に構成される。プランジャー駆動部の各要素は、ベース10の中心軸に対し線対称に配置されている。
プランジャー部は、プランジャーA30およびプランジャーB31が、ネジA34およびネジB35によってそれぞれプランジャー駆動部のスライダー22に固定される。プランジャーA30が計量管A32の内壁面に密着摺動するよう挿入され、プランジャーB31が計量管B33の内壁面に密着摺動するよう挿入されて構成される。
ここで、プランジャーA30およびプランジャーB31のそれぞれの計量管側先端は、計量管内の密着を確実にするために、プランジャーの胴部の径よりも幅広の径に構成する(すなわち、シール部を設ける)ことができる。
計量管A32および計量管B33は、ベース10の中心軸に対し線対称かつ相互に近接して配置されている。このように、本実施例では一つの計量管を長くしたり太くすることなく、複数設けることにより吐出量を増やすことで吐出装置の大型化を防いでいる。
より詳細には、液送部は、液体材料が貯留される貯留容器40と、前記貯留容器40とバルブブロック50とを連通する液送チューブ41で構成される。
液送チューブ41は、貯留容器40底部に延伸する液送パイプ43と連通し、貯留容器40の上部に至る圧力供給管42から供給される空圧の作用により、貯留容器40に貯留される液体材料をバルブブロック50に圧送する。
貯留容器40は、板B12上に傾斜をもって載置され、板A11により胴部を支持されて着脱可能に固定される。
バルブ部は、ベース10に支持されるモータB51の回転駆動により、ギヤセット52を介して、並行して配置された二のシャフト即ちシャフトA53およびシャフトB54を回転させ、板C13に固定されるバルブブロック50のバルブ挿着孔A61およびバルブ挿着孔B62内に配設される二のバルブ即ちバルブA57およびバルブB58を回転自在に構成される。各バルブは、各計量管と各ノズルとを連通する貫通孔と、当該貫通孔と直交する周面に、バルブの長さ方向(水平方向)に伸びる溝を有し、当該各溝は各バルブ挿着孔の内壁面と協働して各計量管と貯留容器40とを連通する流路を構成する。
回転検知機構70は、センサ71と検知板72とから構成される。検知板72は、切り欠きを有する円盤であり、モータB51の回転に伴って回転する。「コ」の字形に形成されたフォトセンサであるセンサ71の凹部に検知板72が位置するよう構成されている。センサ71は、凹部の上部が発光部、凹部の下部が受光部となっており、検知板72の切り欠きによって、前記発光部から発せられた光を、前記受光部に対し、投光または遮光させることができる。これにより、センサ71の受光部に対する発光部からの光の遮光開始位置、または、投光開始位置にもとづきバルブB58の回転位置を制御する。
バルブブロック50の上面に穿った孔には、計量管AおよびBが装着固定される。なお、バルブブロック50の上面に穿った孔そのものを計量管として構成することも当然に可能である。
バルブブロック50は、液送チューブ41と連通する液体材料供給口59から供給された液体材料を、バルブA57およびバルブB58のそれぞれに送るための分岐路を備える流路を有する。このように、供給されたバルブブロック50で分岐して計量管AおよびBに流入させる構成のため、貯留容器を複数設ける必要がない。
このように、本実施例の装置は、二のモータを備える。そして、一のモータで複数のプランジャーを同時に移動させ、もう一方のモータで複数のバルブを同時に動作させる。この様な構成において、モータA20とモータB51は、スライダーを介して上下に配置される。この様な配置とすることにより、装置をスリムに構成することができる。なお、モータA20とモータB51は、ベース10の中心ないしは中心近傍の同軸上に配置することが好ましい。
XY方向に移動する移動ロボットに本滴下装置を複数搭載するにあたっては、このようなスリムな構成とすることは、滴下装置の搭載数を多くすることができ好ましい。
また、二のモータで全てのプランジャーおよび全てのバルブを動作させることができるので、装置を軽量に構成することができ、前記滴下装置を搭載した塗布装置において、滴下装置をX方向またはY方向に移動させる場合において都合がよい。
モータB51を回動動作させ、バルブA57およびバルブB58を第一位置にセットし、計量管A32および計量管B33のそれぞれを液送チューブ41と連通させる。
次に、モータA20を回転動作させ、プランジャーA30およびプランジャーB31を後退移動させて、計量管A32および計量管B33に、液体材料を必要量吸入する。
続いて、バルブA57およびバルブB58が第二位置となるようモータB51を動作させて、計量管とノズルとを連通させる。即ち、計量管A32とノズルA55を連通させ、計量管B33とノズルB56とを連通させる。
所望量の液体材料を吐出させるために、モータA20を回転動作させ、プランジャーA30およびプランジャーB31を規定量前進移動させて、ノズルA55およびノズルB56から液体材料を吐出する。
このとき、プランジャーA30およびプランジャーB31は、急速前進に続いて急激に停止させることにより、微少量の液体材料を精度良くノズルから滴下させることができる。急速前進に続く急激停止の動作を連続して行うことにより、連続的に液体材料を滴下させることができる。
ここで、プランジャーの急激前進に続く急激な停止により、微少量の液体材料を精度良くノズルから滴下させる。例えば、計量管の内壁面に密着して摺動するプランジャーの進出移動および進出停止によって、前記計量管と連通する吐出口より吐出される液滴の吐出量を調整する液滴量の調整方法であって、前記吐出口から吐出される液滴が吐出毎に一定の量となるよう、前記進出移動するプランジャーが減速を開始してから停止するまでの移動速度を調整する液滴量の調整方法であり、ここでは、前記プランジャーを後退移動して前記計量管内に液材を貯留容器から吸入し、前記プランジャーの進出移動および進出停止を繰り返すことにより前記計量管内の液体材料を複数回にわたって吐出がなされる。なお、この吐出方法については、出願人が既に、特許文献4で開示している。
塗布装置5は、ワークが載置されるテーブル6を有する架台7と、架台1上に固設された一対の支持体に支持され、架台1の短手方向(X方向)を横断する可動フレームA81と、同じく架台1のX方向を横断する可動フレームB82を備える。可動フレームA81及び可動フレームB82の側面には可動子を介して複数の滴下装置1がX方向に移動自在に取り付けられている。滴下装置1は、吐出装置と吐出装置を上下方向(Z方向)に移動自在とするZ方向駆動装置により構成されている。テーブル6は、XガイドレールによりX方向に移動自在に構成されており、また、Xガイドレールが配設されたYスライダーおよびYガイドレールによりY方向に移動自在に構成されている。なお、テーブル6に、ワークをθ軸方向に移動させて所定の角度に位置決めするためのθ回転手段を設けてもよい。X方向およびY方向のガイドレールとしては、リニアモータ用マグネットおよび直動ガイドを備える構成が例示されるが、この構成に限定されず、例えば、スライドベースにモータとモータに連動して回転するボールねじを備え、スライダーにボールねじの回転に連動して直進移動するナットを備える構成としてもよい。
本実施例において重要なことは、一の計量管から二のノズルに分岐して滴下する態様ではないことである。即ち、ノズル、計量管およびプランジャーが一つのセットとして構成され、このセットを吐出装置が複数備えていることである。
また、ノズル、計量管およびプランジャーは一つのセットであるから、ノズルの数と同じ数の計量管およびプランジャーを必要とすることもいうまでもない。
実施例2の装置を、図6ないし図8により説明する。なお、図8においては、プランジャーB31の背面にプランジャーA30があり、ノズルB56の背面にノズルA55があり、バルブB58の背面にバルブA57があり、バルブ挿着孔B62の背面にバルブ挿着孔A61があり、計量孔B65の背面に計量孔A64がある。
本実施例の吐出装置は、バルブ挿着孔A61およびB62、貯留部63、並びに計量孔A64およびB65が形成された計量ブロック36を備えている点で、実施例1の吐出装置と相違する。
計量ブロック36は、板C13に固定されており、上面にはプランジャーA31およびB31が挿入される孔が設けられており、側面には液送チューブ41と連通される液体材料供給口59が設けられている。液体材料供給口59から供給された液体材料は、計量ブロック36の内部に形成された貯留部63に一時的に貯留される。貯留部63に貯留された液体材料は、バルブA57およびバルブB58のそれぞの周面に形成された溝を介して計量孔A64および計量孔B65に送出される。本吐出装置における液体吸引の手順は、実施例1と同様であり、貯留部63と計量孔A64および計量孔B65を連通状態とし、モータA20によりプランジャーA30およびプランジャーB31を同時に後退移動することにより行われる。
本実施例の吐出装置においても計量孔、プランジャーおよびノズルを二以上配置することは可能である。また、本実施例の吐出装置を実施例1の塗布装置5に搭載することも当然に可能である。
Claims (11)
- 液体材料の貯留部と、プランジャーが挿通される複数の計量部と、プランジャー駆動装置と、各計量部と一対一に対応する複数のノズルと、を備え、計量部へ充填した液体材料を複数回にわたって吐出する液体材料の吐出装置であって、
前記プランジャー駆動装置が全てのプランジャーを同時に進退移動させる一のプランジャー駆動装置であることを特徴とする液体材料の吐出装置。 - 前記計量部を全て同容量に構成したことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液体材料の吐出装置。
- 前記計量部のそれぞれに対し、計量部とノズルを連通する第一位置および計量部と貯留部とを連通する第二位置を有する切替弁を設け、各切替弁の位置を同時に切り替える一のバルブ駆動装置を設けたことを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の液体材料の吐出装置。
- 前記プランジャー駆動装置および前記バルブ駆動装置を前記複数の計量部に対して鉛直方向に配置したことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液体材料の吐出装置。
- 前記切替弁が配設されたブロックを設け、当該ブロックに前記貯留容器から各切替弁に液体材料を分岐して流入する流路を設けたことを特徴とする請求項3または4に記載の液体材料の吐出装置。
- 前記計量部を前記ブロックに装着可能な計量管により構成し、かつ、相互に隣接して配置したことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の液体材料の吐出装置。
- 前記ブロックに計量部を形成したことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の液体材料の吐出装置。
- 前記ブロックに貯留部を形成したことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の液体材料の吐出装置。
- テーブルが設けられた架台と、架台上に延伸され、一の方向に移動可能なフレームと、を備え、当該フレームに請求項1ないし8のいずれかに記載の吐出装置が設けられた塗布装置。
- 貯留部からプランジャーが挿通される計量部内に液体材料を充填し、プランジャーの進出移動および進出停止を繰り返すことにより前記計量部内の液体材料を複数回にわたって吐出する液体材料の吐出方法において、
複数の計量部および各計量部と一対一に対応する複数のノズルを設け、一のプランジャー駆動装置により複数のプランジャーを同時に移動させることにより全計量部内の液体材料を同時に吐出することを特徴とする液体材料の吐出方法。 - 前記計量部のそれぞれに対し、計量部とノズルを連通する第一位置および計量部と貯留部とを連通する第二位置を有する切替弁を設け、各切替弁を一の駆動装置により同時に切り替えながら液体材料の吐出を行うことを特徴とする請求項10に記載の液体材料の吐出方法。
