 骨材としての炭化珪素粒子と、結合材としての酸化物とを含み、前記炭化珪素粒子相互間に細孔を保持した状態で結合しており、前記酸化物の添加量が炭化珪素粒子の表面積に対して0.5g/m2以上3.0g/m2未満である炭化珪素質多孔体である。
