Abstract

 本発明は、放電抵抗が必要とする電力容量を低減した直接形電力変換装置である。トランジスタ(S1)は例えば第2のクランプコンデンサ(C2)の両端電圧が所定の基準電圧を超えたときに導通する。放電抵抗(R1)の抵抗値は、基準電圧に、放電抵抗(R1)を流れる電流の最大値を除算した値よりも小さい。第2のクランプコンデンサ(C2)の両端電圧(Vc1)が所定の基準電圧を超えたことを以てトランジスタ(S1)が導通したとき、回生電流に起因する放電抵抗(R1)に印加される電圧は、第2のクランプコンデンサ(C2)の両端電圧(Vc1)及び回生電流による放電抵抗(R1)での電圧降下の大きい方である。当該電圧降下及び両端電圧(Vc1)は直流電源線(L1,L2)の間の電圧よりも小さいので、放電抵抗(R1)の電力容量を低減できる。
