Abstract

　タンク容積が大きく取れ、しかも建造が容易なＬＮＧタンカーを提供する。また、荒天時のメンブレン式タンクのスロッシングを低減する。 最前部のＬＮＧタンクは球形独立式タンク（２４）で構成し、その後に続く複数のタンクはいずれもメンブレン式タンク（２６）で構成する。すなわち、メンブレン式タンク（２６）は、船体内殻に防熱を施し、表面をメンブレンで覆って形成される。航海中、球形独立タンク（２４）内の液荷（ＬＮＧ）を他のメンブレン式タンク（２６）に移送し、ボイルオフガスの発生で減ったメンブレン式タンク（２６）の液荷の量を回復させる。
