Abstract

【課題】加締部と外側継手部材の肩部との間で発生する急激なスリップを緩和し、スティックスリップ音の発生を防止した車輪用軸受装置を提供する。 【解決手段】加締部6によって内輪3が固定されたハブ輪2にセレーションを介して外側継手部材14がトルク伝達可能に、かつ軸方向に着脱自在に結合された車輪用軸受装置において、加締部6と肩部15との間にキャップ17が介装され、このキャップ17が耐食性を有する鋼板からプレス加工によって形成され、表面粗さがRa0.63以下に設定されると共に、外径部に径方向内方に延びる係止部17cが一体に形成され、この内径が加締部6の外径よりも僅かに小径に設定され、係止部17cを弾性変形させることによりキャップ17が加締部6に装着されているので、摩擦係数が減少し、急激なスリップを緩和してスティックスリップ音の発生を防止することができる。
