Description
本発明は、上記問題点に鑑みてなされたものであり、ハブ軸のかしめ部の品質が低下するのを抑制しつつ、ハブ軸の耐食性および外観品質を向上させることができる車輪用軸受装置の製造方法、及び車輪用軸受装置を提供することを目的とする。
この場合、ハブ軸の挿通孔の周面にはメッキが施されていない非メッキ部が形成されているので、前記挿通孔に等速ジョイントのシャフトを挿通して嵌合するときに、挿通孔の周面からメッキが剥がれることはない。このため、ハブ軸とシャフトとの嵌め合いが緩むのを防止することができる。
図1は、本発明の一実施形態に係る車輪用軸受装置を示す断面図である。
車輪用軸受装置1は、例えば自動車の車輪を車体側の懸架装置に対して回転自在に支持するものであり、図1では自動車の駆動輪側の車輪用軸受装置を示している。
内輪部材12は、その外周に軸方向他端側の外輪軌道面11aに対向する内輪軌道面13aを有している。ハブ軸3の大径部6は、その外周面に軸方向一端側の外輪軌道面11bに対向する軸軌道面13bを有している。
Claims (3)
- 外輪の径方向内方に転動体を介して円筒形状のハブ軸が配設されており、前記ハブ軸の軸端部を径方向外方にかしめ加工して形成されたかしめ部により当該ハブ軸に外嵌された内輪部材が固定されており、前記ハブ軸の内周に等速ジョイントのシャフトが挿通される車輪用軸受装置の製造方法であって、
前記ハブ軸の前記軸端部を含む所定領域にメッキを施すメッキ工程と、
前記所定領域のうち前記軸端部の一部に施されたメッキを除去するメッキ除去工程と、
前記メッキ除去工程よりも後に、前記軸端部をかしめ加工して、外周に第1平坦面を有する前記かしめ部を形成するかしめ工程と、を含み、
前記メッキ除去工程においてメッキを除去する領域は、前記軸端部をかしめ加工するかしめ用パンチが当該軸端部に接触する接触領域を含み、かつ、前記第1平坦面となる領域を含まない、車輪用軸受装置の製造方法。 - 外輪の径方向内方に転動体を介して円筒形状のハブ軸が配設されており、前記ハブ軸の軸端部を径方向外方にかしめ加工して形成されたかしめ部により当該ハブ軸に外嵌された内輪部材が固定されており、前記ハブ軸の内周に等速ジョイントのシャフトが挿通される車輪用軸受装置であって、
前記ハブ軸は、メッキが施されたメッキ部と、メッキが施されていない非メッキ部と、を有し、
前記非メッキ部は、前記軸端部をかしめ加工するかしめ用パンチが当該軸端部に接触する接触領域及びその周辺領域に形成されており、
前記かしめ部は、その外周に第1平坦面を有し、
前記メッキ部は、前記第1平坦面を含む、車輪用軸受装置。 - 前記ハブ軸には、等速ジョイントのシャフトが挿通して嵌合される挿通孔が形成されており、
前記非メッキ部は、前記挿通孔の周面にも形成されている、請求項2に記載の車輪用軸受装置。
