Abstract

 本発明の表面被覆切削工具は、基材と、該基材上に形成された被膜とを備えるものであって、この被膜は、第1超多層膜と第2超多層膜とを各々1以上交互に積層させてなる複合超多層膜を含み、上記第1超多層膜は、A1層とB層とを各々1層以上交互に積層することにより構成され、上記第2超多層膜は、A2層とC層とを各々1層以上交互に積層することにより構成され、上記A1層と上記A2層とは、各々TiN、TiCN、TiAlN、またはTiAlCNのいずれかにより構成され、上記B層は、TiSiNまたはTiSiCNにより構成され、上記C層は、AlCrNまたはAlCrCNにより構成されることを特徴とする。
