Abstract

【課題】有機発光層で再結合する電子数と正孔数のキャリアバランスを最適化させて発光に対する電流効率を高めた有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子及びその製造方法を提供する。 【解決手段】陽極１１と陰極１８との間に有機発光層１４が配置された素子構造を有する有機ＥＬ素子１であって、有機発光層１４は、ＬＵＭＯ（最低空軌道）のエネルギー値が同じ若しくは略同じでＨＯＭＯ（最高被占軌道）のエネルギー値が異なる少なくとも２種のホスト材料又はＨＯＭＯ（最高被占軌道）のエネルギー値が同じ若しくは略同じでＬＵＭＯ（最低空軌道）のエネルギー値が異なる少なくとも２種のホスト材料と、発光性化合物であるドーパントとを含むように構成し、電子と正孔の移動度のバランスを調整して上記課題を解決した。
