Abstract

 接続端子11の前方部は、相手側の舌片状の接続端子11を受け入れるための角筒状の接続部12とされ、後方部にはU字形状の芯線圧着部13a、被覆圧着部13bが設けられている。また、芯線圧着部13aの接続部12側の両側には、上方に向けた板体状の係止片14がその面を長手方向に向けて立ち上げられている。芯線圧着部13aと係止片14の頂部13a’、14’同士は、連結部15によりほぼ直線状に連結され、芯線圧着部13aの根元部が補強される。

[0001] 本発明は、電気コネクタにおいてハウジング内に係止する接続端子に関するもので ある。
背景技術
[0002] 図 8は接続端子 1に電線 2を固定した状態の斜視図であり、芯線圧着部 3において 電線 2の芯線 4を圧着し、被覆圧着部 5におレ、て電線被覆 6の外側から圧着を行って 、電線を固定している。
発明の開示
発明が解決しょうとする課題
[0003] しかし、接続端子 1においては上述のように電線 2を固定した状態において、芯線 圧着部 3の接続部 7側は単なる板状となるために脆弱で、この部分に不時に応力等 が作用した場合に、折れ曲がりや折損などが生じ易いという問題点がある。
[0004] 本発明の目的は、上述の課題を解消し、接続部と芯線圧着部の間において損傷し 難い接続端子を提供することにある。
課題を解決するための手段
[0005] 上述の目的を達成するための本発明に係る接続端子は、前部の角筒状の接続部 、後部に前方から順次に u字形状の芯線圧着部と被覆圧着部を備えた接続端子に おいて、前記芯線圧着部の前方両側に板体部を立ち上げて形成し、前記芯線圧着 部の頂部と前記板体部の頂部とを連結部によりほぼ直線状に連結したことを特徴と する。
発明の効果
[0006] 本発明に係る接続端子によれば、芯線圧着部と板体部との頂部同士を連結部によ りほぼ直線状に連結したので、芯線圧着部の根元が補強され損傷を生ずることがな くなる。
[0007] また、板体部を係止ランスへの係止に利用すると、接続端子の仮係止時における 前方移動が防止される。

[0010] 図 1は成形した状態の接続端子 11の斜視図、図 2は成形前の導電金属板から打ち 抜いた状態の展開図である。接続端子 11の前方部は、相手側の舌片状の接続端子 11を受け入れるための角筒状の接続部 12とされ、後方部は電線を固定する U字形 状の電線圧着部 13とされてレ、る。電線圧着部 13は接続部 12側の芯線圧着部 13a、 後端部側の被覆圧着部 13bとから成っている。また、芯線圧着部 13aの接続部 12側 の前方両側には、上方に向けた板体状の係止片 14がその面を長手方向に向けて立 ち上げられている。そして、芯線圧着部 13aの頂部 13a'と係止片 14の頂部 14 'は、 連結部 15によりほぼ直線状に連結されている。
[0011] 図 3は接続端子 11に電線 21を接続した状態の斜視図である。電線 21の芯線 22は 芯線圧着部 13aを曲折することにより圧着され、電線被覆 23は被覆圧着部 13bによ り圧着されている。この状態で芯線圧着部 13aは、芯線 22を覆うように屈曲されてい る力 係止片 14は立ち上がったままとなっている。そして、連結部 15は芯線圧着部 1 3a側から徐々に立ち上がっており、連結部 15の存在により、この部分が補強されるこ とになる。
[0012] 図 4はハウジング 31に対し後方からリアホルダ 32が中途まで揷入され、仮係止した 状態における断面図を示し、リアホルダ 32はハウジング 31に対し中途の位置で、図 示しない仮係止機能によって仮係止位置で停止している。ハウジング 31には、接続 端子 11を個々に収納するための端子収容孔 33が例えば上下 2段にかつ左右に複 数列に設けられ、各端子収容孔 33の前方には相手側揷込接続端子が揷入される開 口部 34が設けられている。
[0013] リアホルダ 32には、接続端子 11の接続部 12の後端を係止するための爪部 35aを 有し弾発性を持つ係止ランス 35が端子収容孔 33ごとに形成されており、更に図 5に も示すように係止ランス 35の両側面には接続端子 11の係止片 14が嵌合し、接続端 子 11のそれ以上の前進を防止するための係止溝 35bが設けられている。
[0014] この仮係止状態において、図 6に示すように接続端子 11をリアホルダ 32の後方か ら押し込むと、上段のように接続部 12はリアホルダ 32の係止ランス 35を押し上げな がら前進する。接続部 12が係止ランス 35を潜り抜けて通過すると、下段のように係止 ランス 35は復元し、係止ランス 35の爪部 35aが接続部 12の後部に係止する。同時 に、接続端子 11の係止片 14が係止ランス 35に設けられた係止溝 35bに嵌合する。
[0015] 係止ランス 35の爪部 35aによる係止により、接続端子 11は後方に戻ることが規制さ れ、更に係止片 14の係止溝 35bへの嵌合により、接続端子 11が係止ランス 35を離 れてそれ以上の前進が規制されることになる。
[0016] このように、接続端子 11が係止ランス 35により 2個所において前後方向に係止され た状態において、全ての接続端子 11が揃えられると、例えば導通検査が行われる。 その後に、リアホルダ 32を押して図 7に示すように接続端子 11を本係止状態まで押 し込むことにより、接続端子 11はハウジング 31内の所定の位置に収容されることにな る。
[0017] この本係止状態においては、接続端子 11は係止ランス 35の爪部 35aによる後抜け 、開口部 34の近傍の壁部によって前抜けが防止される力 係止ランス 35の係止溝 3 5bによっても前抜け防止は助長される。
[0018] また、係止片 14の係止溝 35bの嵌合は、接続端子 11の左右方向への揺動も防止 されることになり、係止片 14はスタビライザの役割をも果たしている。
[0019] このような工程も含めて、芯線圧着部 13aの前方に係止片 14を設け、芯線圧着部 1 3aは係止片 14と頂部 13a'、 14'同士を連結部 15によりほぼ直線状に結んでいるの で、芯線圧着部 13aの前部が補強され、折れ曲がりや折損が少なくなる。

請求の範囲
[1] 前部の角筒状の接続部、後部に前方から順次に u字形状の芯線圧着部と被覆圧 着部を備えた接続端子において、前記芯線圧着部の前方両側に板体部を立ち上げ て形成し、前記芯線圧着部の頂部と前記板体部の頂部とを連結部によりほぼ直線状 に連結したことを特徴とする接続端子。
[2] ハウジング装着時に前記接続部の後端を係止ランスにより係止する請求項 1に記 載の接続端子。
[3] 前記板体部は前記係止ランスの両側に形成した係止溝に係止するようにした請求 項 2に記載の接続端子。
