No. 35,336. Patented Nov. 26, I90l.
J. C. TELFER. LAcme STUD BLANK.
y (Application filed July 13, 1901.)
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN G. TELFER, OF KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI.
DESIGN FOR A LAClNG-STUD BLANK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No; 35,336, dated November 26, 1901.
Application filed July 13, 1901. Serial No. 68,266. Term of patent 14 years.
To tZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN C. TELFER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kansas City, in the county of Jackson and State of Missouri, have invented and produced a new sand original Design for Lacing-Stud Blanks,
of which the following is a specification.
Myinvention relates to lacing-stud blanks for shoes and like articles; and my object is to to produce a new and original design for the same which is both useful and ornamental.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view, Fig. 2 is a side view, and Fig. 3 is a plan view, of a lacing-stud blank embodying my new design.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of a fiat shank formed at one end and side into a hook and at the same side, but opposite end,
2a with two substantially straight and parallel spurs extending at about right angles to the faces of the shank, and a central longitudinally-extending finger provided at its free or rear end with a spur which projects from the same side and in the same direction as the spurs projecting directly from the body portion of the shank, the said finger forming a junction with the shank between the junction points therewith of said first named spurs.
Minor features of the design reside in the sharpened or tapered ends of the spurs and in the segmental form in cross-section of the curving portion of the hook, said portion having its convex side disposed inwardly and its I concave side outwardly.
Referring now to the drawings in detail, 1 designates the body portion of the fiat shank; 2, the hook at one end and side of the same; 3, the convex side of the curving portion of the hook, and 4 the concave side of the same.
5 designates the spurs projecting from the rear end of the body portion of the shank and from the same side as the hook, and 6 the longitudinal finger connecting with the body portion of the shank between said spurs.
7 designates the spur at the rear or free' end of said finger, and 8 the sharpened or ta-' pered ends of the spurs.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for alacing-stu'd blank, sub stantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature 5'5 in the presence of two witnesses. v
