UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ROBERT ll. \VARREN, ()l NEWARK, NEW JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A STAlR-CARPET GRIP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,509, dated June 6, 1893.
Application filed March 8, 1893. Serial No. 465,177. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ROBERT Il. \VARREN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Stair-Carpet Grip; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertaius to make and use the same, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, andto letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 is an elevation showing a stair carpet grip of my design, and Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the same taken on line so. These views are necessary but sufficient to illustrate my design.
The leading feature of the design consists in the quadrantal and oppositely tapering body at the back of which is the vertical ornament on the face of which latter are decorative projections.
a indicates the body of the grip which, viewed endwise, has the shape of a quadrant and, viewed from the front, tapers oppositely toward the opposite ends, b, the convex surface of the said body being ornamented. I show the said convex surface ornamented, at the center, with a rosette-shaped decoration, a, at the opposite sides of which are rounded bars, b, disposed at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the body, and, outside of said bars, with longitudinal bars or corrugations, D which taper toward the opposite extremities. The vertical ornament, 0, displays, on its front face, ribs, d, and projecting dots or roundels, e, disposed in suitable decorative relation, and the outline of the upper edge has also an ornamental shape.
What I claim as new is- The design for a stair carpet grip herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 8th day of February, 1893.
ROBERT II. \VARREN.
