DAVID XVALKER, OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A STAIR- CARPET FASTENER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,501, dated February 3, 1891. Application filed November 6, 1890. Serial No. 370,549. Term of patent 14 years.

Be it known that 1, DAVID WALKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Stair-Carpet Buttons; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
In said drawings, Figure l is a front elevation of the newly-designed stair-carpet button; and Fig. 2 is a central section of the same, taken on line a.
The leading feature of the design consists in a stair-button crescent-shaped in front elevation, having a convex front face and ornamented at each side of the central perforation.
A of the drawings indicates the stair-carpet button; B, the convex upper edge thereof;
0, the concave opposite edge; D, the pointed ends formed by the union of the concaved and convexed edges; E, the central perforation; E, Fig. 2, the convex front face of the crescent-shaped button, and G the ornamentation representing oak-leaves conventionalized, the stern of the leaves extending oppositely away from the central perforation.
WVhat I claim as new is- The design for a stair-carpet button herein shown and described, consisting of a crescentshaped stair-carpet button the front face of which is convex and ornamented on each side of the central perforation, as set forth.
