DESIGN.
G. E. ADAMS. BUCKLE.
Patented Apr. 11, 1893.
OR D
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE E. ADAMS, OF NEW BRITAIN, CONNECTICUT.
DESIGN FOR A BUCKLE.
0 all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GEORGE E. ADAMS, of New Britain, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut. have invented and produced a new and original Design for Buckles Adapted for Personal \Vear, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
Said drawing represents in front elevation a buckle embodying my present design and applied to a snspender web.
The essential features of this design will be seen from the drawing to consist of the central ornamental representation of lattice work together with the series of ornamental scallops along the edge of the same, given to the part of the buckle overlying the web.
The letter D indicates the fret work representing an ornamental lattice, which at the top, is bounded by the scrolls F,fand gformed on the bottom of the bar A. At the bottom, the lattice work is bounded by the ornamental scallops B,C each having its outer or convex edge ornamented with small con ven tionalized leaf-like ornamentation and the inner or concave side with an indefinite conventionalized shell-like ornamentation, the whole effect being to give the appearance of ornamental festoons orscallopsbounding thelattice work and forming the lower edge of the overlying portion ofthe buckle, with the central scallop lowermost.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is- The design for a buckle herein shown and described.
GEORGE E. ADAMS.
