DESlGN FOR WATCH-CASES.

Specification forming part of Design No. 7,773, dated September 22, 1874; application filed April 23, 1674.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, SAMUEL STRASBURGER, of Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts. have invented a Design for Ornamenting atch-Gases, of which the folcially adapted to watch-cases having rounded lids, A is the central portion of the lid, and B the border. lhe part A is engine-turned, or ornamented with lathe-work, and has a shieldshaped center, nearly plain, as shown. The border B is ornamented with fine lines or scroll-work; but prominent in the ornamentation of the same are a series of hornof-plenty or thousand-leaves scrolls, extending entirely around the portion A, said scroll reaohin g from the part A to the outer edge of the lid, the edge or part a a a between the lids being beaded or knurled, as shown.

I prefer to ornament the part A of the case with lathework, and to use a shield in the center, as described; but these may be changed without departing from the spirit of my invention, not being in themselves claimed by me, the distinctive character of my design being the ornamental border 13 and headed edge a a a, combined and arranged with the engineturned part A, as shown.

What I claim as my invention is- A design for watch-cases, composed of the central ornament b, surrounded by the lathework A, a bordering of scroll-Work, B, and a beaded edge, a a, as described.
