WITNESSES INVENTOR:
ATTORNEYS.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN A. DEKNATEL, OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
DESlGN FOR A BUTTON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,028, dated July 11, 1882. Application filed May 1'2, 1882. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that 1, JOHN A. DEKNATEL, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced anew and original Design for Buttons, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification, in which my newly-designed button is shown.
The leading feature of my design consists in a butterfly on a button provided with an edge formed by a meandering line. The sides of the butterfly are beveled. The meandering line forms a series of notches in the edge of the button, and a single head is placed in the alternate recesses-that is, in the notches opening toward the outside. The wings of the butterfly may be ornamented in any desired manner.
The design can also be used for breastpins, medallions, or other like disk ornaments.
Having thus fully described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. The herein-described design for buttons, consisting of a butterfly on a disk, having its circular edge formed by a meandering line, as set forth.
2. The herein-described design for buttons, consisting of a butterfly on a disk, having its circular edge formed by a meandering line having single beads in the alternate recesses, as set forth.
JOHN A. DEKNATEL.
