DESIGN FOR A BUTTON.
O SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,025, dated July 11, 1882.

To all whom. it may concern Be it known that I, J 01m A. DEKNATEL, of Brooklyn, Kings county, New York, have invented a. new and Improved Design for Buttons, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
Refcrenceis to be had to the accompanying drawing, in which my newly-designed button is shown.
The leading feature of my design consists in a. central shield surrounded by four wedgeshaped fields or facettes arranged at the top, bottom, and sides of the shield. Broad grooves with beveled sides are arranged between the shield and the fields surrounding it. An outwardly-turned volute projects from the lower end of each side of the shield and terminates in a raised single head, and a single head is arranged in the middle of each volute. The sides of the volutes and ot' the beads are beveled. The shield can be provided with any suitable ornament.
This design may also be used for breastpins, medallions, or other like disk ornaments.
Having thus described my invention, Iclaim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. The herein-described design for buttons, consisting of a central shield and fields at the top, bottom, and sides of the same, as set forth.
2. The herein-described design for buttons, consisting of a. central shield and of Wedgeshaped fields at the top, bottom, and sides of the shield, beveled grooves being arranged between the shield and the fields, as set forth.
3. The herein-described design for buttons, consisting of a central shield provided with volutes projecting from its sides and of the wed ge-shaped fields at the top and bottom and sides of the shield, as set forth.
4. The herein-described design for buttons, consisting of a central shield provided with volutes projecting from the sides, of single beads surrounded by the volutes, and of wedge shaped fields above, below, and at the sides of the shield, as set forth.
