DESIGN FOR A BADGE OR SIMILAR ARTICLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design N0. 28,523, dated May 3, 1898.
Application filed February 4, 1898- Serial No. 669,152. Term of patent 7 years.
' To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FREDERICK J. CONNER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Waterville, in the county of Kennebec and State of Maine, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Badge or Similar Article, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanyin g drawings, forming part thereof, in which Figure 1 is a top or plan view of the design of my invention; and Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view through the said design, these two views being deemed essential to an understanding and disclosure of my said invention.
The leading feature of my design consists in V the unitary article made the subject of illustration having the shape and ornamentation shown.
Referring to the drawings, A represents a badge or similar article of my invention having a surrounding line ornamentation a and a, and within the field bounded by said ornamentation on or in the surface of the article is provided an ornamentation consisting of a skull b placed above a pot a, and with crossbones d displayed about the same. the line ornamentation there is shown aspace or panel upon which may be displayed suitable letters or words to denote the particular signification of the article.

The design for a badge or similar article, substantially as shown and described.
