JOHN A. DEKNATEL, OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A BUTTON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,027, dated July 11, 1882. Application filed May 22,1882. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN A. DEKNATEL, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Buttons, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact dose-rip tion.
Reference is to be had to the itCCOlllllilll) ing drawing, forming part of this specification, in which my newly-designed button is shown.
The leading feature of my new design consists in a transverse bar, from each side of which two bows, curved toward each other, project, which bows surround two opposite beaded volutes on each side of the bar. The ends of the transverse bar are widened and ornamented in some manner, and the outer ends of the bows, at the sides of the bar, are also widened and ornamented. An arrow projects from each side of the bar in such a manner that the arrow-point will be between the ends of the bows, and the feather end of the arrow rests against the bar. A single head is provided above one end ofthe bar, and two sec tor-shaped or triangular fields are arranged at the sides of this head. The sides of the bar, the hows, the arrows, beads, and iields are beveled.
This design can also be used for brcastpins, medallions, and other like disk Ornaments.
Having thus fully described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. The herein-described design for buttons, consisting of a transverse bar and of bowsprojecting from the sides of the bar and volutes contained within these bows, as set forth.
2. The herein-described design for buttons, consisting of a transverse our, of bows projecting from the sides of this bar, and of arrows projecting from the sides of the bar between the free ends of the bows, as set forth.
3. The herein-described design for buttons, consisting of a transverse bar having the ends widened and of bows proiecting from the sides of the bar and having the ends widened, as set forth.
4. The herein-described design for buttons, consisting of a transverse bar, hows project ing from the sides of the bar, a head at one end of the bar, and two triangular or sectorshaped fields at the sides of this bead, as set forth.
Oscar; I Gem, 0. SEDGWICK.
