DESlGN FOR A COFFlN-PLATE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,508, dated April 26, 1892, Application filed March 28, 1892. Serial No. 426,825. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern Be it; known that I, OLIVER MCCARTHY, of Meriden, in the countyof Newllaven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Cofiin-Ilates; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with accompanying drawing, to be a full, clear, and exact. description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification, and represents a face View.
This invention relates to a design for coffin-plates, with special reference to the nameplate or to the handle-plate; and the design consists in the configuration and ornamentation as shown in the accompanying illustration.
The body of the plate presentsa surfacein the form of a parallelogram. Around the body is the representation of a border, presenting a convex surface, ornamented by a series of scallops, with the representation of tongues springing from between the scallops and branching to the right and left to the edge of the plate, as shown in the accompanyinc: illustration.
It will be understood that the name-plate and handle-plate are the same, except; that the handle-plate will be provided ith sockets, such sockets being represented bybroken lines in theillustration; but thisconstruction is immaterial to the design, the outline and ornamentation of the plate beingthe same in either case.
I claim The design for a cotiin-plate, herein described, as shown in the accompanying illustration.
