DESIGN FOR A STAIR-CARPET BUTTON 0 R FASTENER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,661, dated April 7, 1891. Application filed February 4, 1891. Serial No. 380,236. Term of patent 7 years.
ToaZZ whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, DAVID WALKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark,
in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Stair-Carpet Buttons; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
In the accompanying drawings, which are deemed suflicient to illustrate the invention, Figure 1 is a front elevation of the newly-designed stair-carpet button 5 and Fig. 2 is a section of the same, taken on line w.
The leading feature of the design consists in a stair-carpet-fastening button which in front elevation presents to view the figure of a Maltese cross and is convened or has its circumferential edges turned rearward.
In said drawings, a indicates a round carpet-fastening button, the outer edges of which are turned rearward, as' indicated in Fig. 2, said button having the usual central nail-perforation b. c is a Maltese cross ornamenting the face of said fastener, the said cross projecting slightly from the ground d of said fastener. The said ground is ornamented by radial scallops.
