DESIGN FOR A SPOON, 84.0.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,038, dated September 15, 1891.
Application filed July 8, 1891. Serial No. 398.841. Term of patent 14 years.
To aZZ whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, AUSTIN F. JACKSON, residing at Taunton, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Spoons, Knives, die., of which the following is a specification.
The design is intended for handles of ladles, knives, and analogous table-ware, as well as for spoons and forks, to which it is chiefly applied.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a view of the front or obverse face of the spoon. Fig. 2 is a View of the back or reverse face of the same.
The principal features of the design for the front of the spoon-handle are the elliptical shape of the head or end a, the top of which has acentral depression b, from which extends downward on the opposite edges ornamentations or arabesques c c, which are continued down some distance on the handle to repre sent a rib-like ornamentation Il, which orna- Inentations (l are also extended up to the meeting ends of the arabesques c and forni an angulardependingornament e. The back of the handle has the same general cont-our as the face, also the central depression a at the top, but is otherwise plain, as shown.
That l claim is- The design for the handles of spoons, knives, sc., comprising the central depression (l on the end of the spoon, the central ornament b, the side arabesques c c, the rib-like ornamentation d, and the angular depending ornament e, as shown and described.
