SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,921, dated June 28, 1898.
Application filed May 18, 1898, Serial No, 681,086. Term of patent 3 years.
To (LU whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that we, EUSTACE CREES and CHARLES S. COURT, citizens of the United States, residing at Providence, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Handles for Button-Hooks and Similar Articles; and we do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The invention has relation to a new and original design for handles for button-hooks and similar articles; and it consists of a bandle of the configuration and ornamentation shown in the accompanying drawing, in which the figure illustrates our invention in side elevation.
The handle comprises the body portion 1, the upper end of which is enlarged, as shown at 2, and set to one side of the shank 8. The
edges of the handle are provided with several graceful curves and the face of the handle is provided on one edge with scrolls 5 and on the other edge with scrolls 6, between which is an elongated raised body portion '7, bordered by curved rows of beads 8 and surmounted by a cluster of flowers 9. Below the elongated raised body is a series of curved ribs 10, formed with enlarged heads 11, and below this ornamentation is a scrollwork 12.
Vhat we claim is The design for a handle for a button-hook or similar article, as herein shown and de scribed.
