V I I w 1720674201? Beriiaxi 1' UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
DESIGN FOR A WRENCH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,213, dated March 12, 1901.
Application filed December 31, 1900. Serial No. 41,743. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, BERT BAXTER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Shiloh, Logan county, Oklahoma Territory, have invented and produced a new and useful Design for renches, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to wrenches; and my object is to produce a new and original design for the same which is both useful and ornamental.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents a perspective view of a wrench of my design. Fig. 2 is a view of the opposite side of the same with the arm broken away.
The leading or material feature of the design consists in the approximately flat oval body having ahandle of substantially L shape, the short portion of the handle extending at a sharp angle from the body, while the long portion extends approximately parallel with the body, but at the opposite end of the said short portion. It also consists in a circular or cylindrical jaw arranged centrally of and projecting beyond the fiat faces of the body and having a central hole or aperture.
It further consists in an angular recess formed centrally in the end of said circular or cylindrical jaw projecting from the same side of the body as the handle, said angular recess being of greater diameter than and surrounding the hole or aperture.
Minor features of the design reside in a division-line arranged about centrally between the upper and lower margins of the body and in the set-screws projecting from opposite edges of the body near the handle; also, in the circular figures on the flat faces and at opposite sides of the longitudinal center of the body and between the jaw and handle; also, in the screw-bolt heads at opposite ends of the face of the body to that from which the handle projects.
Referring to the drawings in detail, 1 designates the fiat body portion of approximately oval form in plan view.
2 designates the short and 3 the long portion of the handle.
4 designates the circular or cylindrical jaw, 5 the central hole or aperture therein, and 6 the angular recess formed in one end of said 7 designates the division line, arranged about centrally between the upper and lower margins of the body.
8 designates the set-screws projecting from opposite edges of the body.
9 designates the circular figures on the flat sides of the body.
10 designates the screw-bolt. heads.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new is- The design for a wrench, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
BERT BAXTER.
