ALBERT DUDLY, OF MENOMINEE, MICHIGAN.
DESlGN FOR A WRENCH-STOCK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,421, dated December 10, 1901.
Application filed June 15, 1901. Serial No.64,'758. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ALBERT DUDLY, a cilizen ot' the United States. residing at Menominee, in the county of Menominee and State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Double-Head Wrench-Stock; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
In the said drawings, Figure 1 represents a side elevation, and Figs. 2, 3, and 4are detail sectional views taken, respectively, on the lines 2 2, 3 3, and 4 A of Fig. 1, of a wrench-stock embodying my new design.
My design relates to the new and original shape or configuration of the article.
The leading or essential feature consistsin the unitary design for a wrench-stock made the subject of illustration, comprising the peculiar and novel shape of the handle part A, of the same width its entire length, save that it is rounded at its lower or outer end and formed with a series of square-sided and round-bottomed recesses b b b in one edge thereof, the upper half of said part A having otherwise fiat edge surfaces 0 c on each side, while both edges of the lower half of said part A are rounded, as shown at 2' 2', together with the peculiar and novel shape of the head part 13, extending an equal distance on each side of the handle part A and formed with lower oblong rectangular fiat-faced portions ff at each side of greater width or thickness than tion or crown h of less width or thickness than that of said handle part A, said upper portion 7t being centrally and convexly rounded on the arc of a circle between the points mm and thence descending in straight lines of equal length on each side to the points n n, in line with the vertical straight fiat outer ends 9 g of the described portions ff, the upper edge of this upper portion or crown of the head part B being transversely rounded on a convex circular line, as shown at 1.
Minor features of my said design comprise the central longitudinal side flutes (1 din the handle part A, extending continuously to the crown or upper portion h of the head part B, leaving the center of said handle part A and the crown h of the same thickness and separating the described portions ff of the said head part B, with longitudinal concavities jj at each side of said flutes d cl, the transverse serrated recesses 6 across the under side of one of the head portions f, and the longitudinal concave surfaces j j above the described portions fof the head part B.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a wrench-stock, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
ALBERT DUDLY.
