TABLE FORK.
(Application led Jan. 2, 1901.'`
- UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES F. SMITH, OF NEW BRITAIN, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE LANDERS, FRARY da CLARK, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A TABLE-FORK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,982, dated January 29, 1901.
Application filed January Z, 1901. Serial No. 41,833. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom, it Indy concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES F. SMITH, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Britain, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a ne7 and original Design for Table-Forks, of which the following' is a specification, reference being had to theiaccompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure lis a plan View of a table-fork, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a reverse plan View ot' the same. Fig. 3 is a central longitudinal section of the shank portion of the same, the other parts being shown iu edge view. Fig. tis a transverse section of the shank portion on the line xm of Fig. l. Fig. 5 is a Iransverse section'of the tines on the line y y of Fig. l.
As shown in the drawings, the handle A is of an ordinary form, and is therefore illustrated by broken lines. The tines 6 present an ordinary form in plan View; but in crosssection they have convex top and bottom sides with straight side edges, as shown in The contour of the shank 7 in plan Fig. 5.
View shows a narrow neck, that abruptly widens in one direction toward the tines and in the other direction toward the handle. The upper face of the shank 7 is rounded over with a continuous plain smooth surface of a convex form in cross-section, while there is a central groove S on the under side of the shank, the said groove being;r on a different curve and smaller than the said upper convex face. On each side of the groove at the middle of the shank there is a plain portion 9, as best shown in Fig'. 4, and the edges of the shank are straight, in harmony with the straight edges of the tines, as shown, respectively, in Figs. 4 and 5.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a table-fork, as herein shown and described.
CHARLES F. SMITH.
