DESIGN FOR A STOVE-LEG.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,876, dated August 8, 1899,
Application filed July 11,1899 Serial No. 723503. Tern: ofnatent 14 years.
To all, whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN T. JONES, acitil zen of the United States, residing at IIale, in the county of Carroll and State of Missouri, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Stove-Leg, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a stove-leg, and it has for its 1 object to provide a design of this character that shall be both useful and ornamental.
The leading feature of the design resides in a solid leg, shank, or standard approximately semieylindrical in cross-section and provided with a flat inner side and an outer convexed side, said outer convexed side of\ the shank or standard being provided with an outwardly-swelled footportion, whose front face is disposed at an oblique angle to the inclination of the shank or standard.
The minor features of the design are the shank or standard provided with a sigmoidally-eurved face at its inner side, a fiat lower end, and the offstanding arm at the upper end thereof.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective l view of a stove-leg embodying the herein-described design. Fig. 2 is a side view of the same. Fig. 3 is a front view thereof. Fig,
i. is a cross-sectional view on the line 4 4 of Fig. 2'.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, the numeral 1 designates an inclined solid leg or standard provided at its upper end with an a'ngularly-disposed oiistanding arm 2.
i The said shank or standard is approximately semicylindrical in cross-section and is provided with a flat lower end 3 and at its inner side with a fiat sigrnoidally-curved face 4. By reason of the semieylindrical cross-seetional shape of the shank or standard the outer side thereof is eonvexed, and this convexed side is provided contiguous to the lower extremity of the shank or standard with an outwardly-swelled foot portion 5, having a transverse rounded ridge 6, and whose face 7 is disposed at an obtuse angle to the inclination of the shank or standard.
\Vhat is claimed is- The design for a stove-leg, herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto afiixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
JOHN W. JONES.
