SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,386, dated July 20, 1897.
Application filed June 8, 1897. Serial No. 639,923. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, FLOYD N. REEUE and ETHER I'LREECEpitlZenS of the United States, residing at Troy Mills, in the county of Linn and State of Iowa, have invented a new and original Design for Snap-Hooks, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a snap-hook; and it has for its object to provide a design of this character which shall be both useful and ornamental.
The leading feature of the design resides in an oblong rectangular body provided at one end with an L-shaped hook and at its end portion, opposite said hook, with a pair of rounded cross-bars disposed in parallel planes, said rectangular body being further provided on the outer side of the end bar forming a part of the hook and on opposite sides of its continuous side bar with tapering arched projections.
A minor feature of the design resides in providing the L-shaped hook with a curved inner side, in disposing the arched projections on the continuous side bar at diagonally opposite points, and also in concaving the outer side of the rounded end bar of the body.
In the drawings, Figure l is a perspective view of a snap-hook embodying the hereindescribed design. Fig. 2 is a side elevation thereof.
Referring to the accompanying drawings,
the numeral 1 designates the oblong rectangular body of the hook, provided at one end with an L-shapedhook proper, (designated by the numeral 2,) said hook 2 having a curved inner side and provided with an angular notch 3 in its tip end. The end bar of the body forming a part of the hook 2 is provided on its outer side with a longitudinally-disposed taperiug arched projection 4, and at the end portion opposite the hook .3 the body 1 is provided with a pair of parallel rounded cross-bars 5, the outer of which cross-bars is provided with a longitudinally concaved outer side 6.
The design is completed by providing the continuous side bar of the body, on opposite sides thereof and at diagonally opposite points, with longitudinally-disposcd tapering arched projections '7, the inner of which projections is disposed between the hook 2 and the inner or intermediate cross-bar 5.
\Vhat we claim is- The design for a snap-hook, herein shown and described.
In testimony that we claim the foregoing as our own we have hereto affixed our signatures in the presence of two witnesses.
