DESIGN FOR A SAFETY HITCH-RING.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,189, dated July 11, 1899.
Application filedMarch 11, 1899. Serial No. 708,768. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM WHEELER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Foreston, in the county of Baltimore and State of Maryland, have invented a new and original Design for a Safety Hitch-Ring, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a safety hitch-ring; and it has for its object to provide a design of this character that shall be both useful and ornamental.
The leading feature of the design resides in a ring or hook provided with a substantially S -shaped body, having both ends deflected on a curve transversely of the body at the same side thereof, the terminals of said deflected ends being provided with shouldered conical tips pointing in opposite directions.
A minor feature of the design resides in the deflected ends of the S-shaped body being disposed at an acute angle to the plane of the body.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the safety hitch-ring embodying the herein-described design. Fig. 2 is a plan view thereof. Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view on the line 3 3 of Fig. 2.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, the numeral 1 designates the body of a ring or hook, which is substantially S-shaped and round in cross-section. The said S-shaped body 1 has both ends 2 thereof deflected on a curve transversely of the body and projecting therefrom at the same side'thereof. The terminals of said deflected ends 2 are disposed at an acute angle to the plane of the body and are provided with shouldered conical tips 3, respectively, pointing in opposite directions.
What is claimed is- The design for a safety hitch-ring, herein shown and described.
