UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE F. CAREY, OF NEXV YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A TIP FOR HAY-FORKS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,068, dated July 19, 1898.
A li tio fil d November 22, 1897. Serial No. 659,5 21- Term of patent 3% years.
To ctZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that LGEonen FRANCIS CAREY, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Tip for Hay-Forks, of
which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view, and Fig. 2 is a side elevation, of a tip for hay-forks, showing my new design. t
The leading or material feature of my de sign consists of the tip for hay-forks forming the subject-matter of the accompanying illustrations. As shown in the drawings, the tip has an upper cylindrical portion which extends with its sides on parallel lines for a considerable distance compared with the length of the tip and unite with the converging lines,
which extend on straight lines, forming a tapering portion which is brought to a sharp point, the entire surface of the tip being smooth and it presenting a cavity at the free end of its cylindrical portion.
Referring to the drawings by letters, the cylindrical portion A has at its top D the cavity E and has its sides formed on parallel lines to their juncture with the tapered portion B of the tip.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a tip for hay-forks, as herein shown and described.
