DESIGN FOR A PUNCHlNG-DIE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,066, dated July 19, 1898. Application filed June 20, 1898. Serial No- 6B4,012- Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, 11001) WoRTHINeroN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Danville, in the county of Boyle and State of Kentucky, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Punehing-Die, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, which illustrate my design, Figure l. represents a perspective view of the head of the punching-(lie. Fig. 2 represents a plan View of the same, and Fig. 3 represents a side eleration.
The leading feature of my said design consists in the peculiar con figuration and outline of the cutting-head thereof, the same having two short similar parallel portions with straight sides and rounded ends, the opposite ends of said parallel portions being connected by a straight diagonal portion integral therewith, the whole extending axially from an integral base portion. The interior angles formed by the function of the said diagonal portion with the said parallel portions are so situated as to be out of line when viewed as in Fig. 2, the one angle extending beyond a vertical line passing through the other corresponding angle. The apexes of the angle are slightly rounded, the thickness of the said head being uniform.
In the accompanying drawings, A represents the cutting-head of the punching-die.
A A represent the two short parallel portions, haying rounded ends a a. B represents the diagonal portion ,connecting opposite ends of the said parallel portion, and I: I) represent the two internal angles, formed at the junction of the said diagonal portion with the said parallel portion.
13' represents the base of the head, which has a plain upper surface ll and rounded eor 11ers W.
The said punching'die has also a straight cylindrical shank O, as shown in the accompanying drawings.
\Vhat I claim as my invention is- The design for a punching-die, substantially as herein shown and described.
