SPECIFICATION forming part of Design N6; 30,651, dated ina' 2, 1896-.
Application filed April 8, 1899. Serial No. 712,331. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JULIUS E. Somn'n'r, a citizen of the United States, residing at Tacoma, in the county of Pierce and State of Washington, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Spoon, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a spoon; and it has for its object ID to provide a design of this character that shall be both useful and ornamental.
The leading feature of the design resides in a spoon having a circular concave-convex bowl provided with a truly circular edge and a handle extending from the bowl in substantially the plane of the circular edge thereof and at right angles to the axial plane which intersects the center of the bottom of the bowl.
The minor features of the design are the bowl having its circular edge fiat and the sigmoidally-curved handle.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a spoon embodying the herein-described design. Fig. 2 is a plan view thereof.
Fig. 3 is a longitudinal sectional view showing in dotted lines the axial plane which intersects the center of the bottom of the bowl and the plane in which the handle extends 0 from the bowl.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, the numeral 1 designates the bowl of the spoon, which in the present invention is of a circular concavo-convex shape and is provided with a flat circular edge 2. 5
The handle 3 of the spoon, as shown,is sigmoidally curved in a longitudinal direction and extends from the bowl 1 in substantially the plane of the Hat circular edge 2 thereof and at right angles to the axial plane which intersects the centerof the bottom of the bowl, as indicated by dotted lines in Fig. 3 of the drawings.
The handle 3 of the spoon is not only shown sigmoidally curved in a longitudinal direc- 5 tion, but also provided with sigmoidallycurved side edges 4 and a contracted or narrowed neck portion 5, adjoining the bowl, and at the end remote from the bowl with a widened lanceolate blade portion 6.
What is claimed is- The design for a spoon, herein shown and described.
