UNITED STATES PATENT QFFICE.
SAMUEL J. LARGE, OF BRISTOL,.CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE AMERICAN SILVER 00., OF BRISTOL, CONNECTICUT.
DESIGN FOR A SPOON OR FORK HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,279, dated November 5, 1901.
Application filed October 8, 1901. Serial No. 77,998. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, SAMUEL J. LARGE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bristol,'in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Spoon or Fork Handle, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accom panying drawing.
' The only figure of the drawing is a plan of a spoon or fork handle, showing my design.
As shown in the drawing, the shank end of thehandle has wavy or indented curved edges 1 l for a short distance, then extends longitudinally with its edges on a long curve to form the concave portions 2 2, which extend to the border or butt-end 3 of the handle, as shown. The edge at the end has a central curved projection 4 and two smaller curved projections 5 5, from which the edge extends in a curved convex form over the broader portion of the butt-end 3 to meet the c011- cave portions 2 2. Substantially the whole handle has a plain border-ledge on its front face at the edge, and within the border is a series of beads 6. This series of beads is broken at the junction of the wavy edges 1 1 and the concavely-curved edges 2 2 and also at the two smaller curved projections 5 5 at the butt, which projections havea scroll figure on their face. There are also two scrolls 7 7 inside the rows of beads at the butt and an ornament 8 between the ends of the said scrolls and the central curved projection 4:.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a spoon or fork handle as herein shown and described.
SAMUEL J. LARGE.
