UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
NORMAN STAFFORD, OF CANASTOTA, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A TOOTH-SUPPORT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,345, dated March 8, 1898.
Application filed January 14, 1898. Serial No. 666,714. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, NORMAN STAFFORD, of Canastota, in the county of Madison, in the State of New York, have invented a new and useful Design for Tooth-Supports, of which .he following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a top plan view of a tooth-support embodying my design. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of thesame. Fig. 3 is an inverted plan View, and Fig. 4 is an end View thereof.
The leading and material feature of my design consists in a metal tooth-support for rakes and cultivators, which tooth-support, when viewed in plan and side elevation, presents the appearance of an elongated rectangle, as shown in Figs. 1, 2, and 8, and when viewed in end elevation presents the appear ance of an L, having the outer portion of one of its sides formed with a hook-shaped extension.
A is a metallic tooth-support embodying my design. The opposite marginal edges of the tooth-support are substantially parallel with each other, as is well shown in Fig. 1, and said support, as shown in Fig. 4, is provided with lengthwise sides a. a, which are disposed at an angle with each other and cause the tooth-support A to present the appearance of an L when viewed in end elevation. The outer portion of the side aterminates in a curved hookshaped extension o The peculiar shape of a tooth-support showing my design imparts a characteristic appearance to said tooth-support.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a tooth-support, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto signed my name, in the presence of two attesting witnesses, at Canastota, in the county of Madison, in the State of New York, this 29th day of December, 1897.
NORMAN STAFFORD.
