DESIGN FOR A BUCKLE.

Application filed January 5, 1911.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, CHARLES \V. VARNER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Middletown, in the county of Middlesex and State of Connecticut, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Buckle, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part hereof.

The material features of my design consist of a buckle frame of a somewhat greater length than width, and with side parts when viewed in plan formed to bow outward as to the outer bounding lines, and shaped to form an opening substantially rectangular in shape. \Vhen seen in edge view this frame is substantially flat, with the exception of that end to which the tongue Specification for Design.

is secured, at which point it bends downward, the frame thus viewed being of uniform thickness. The tongue when viewed in plan is of uniform thickness, except at that end where it is united to the cross bar, at which part it is enlarged or widened as shown in the plan view.

Figure l is a plan view of a buckle showing my new design. Fig. 2 is an edge view of the same.
