UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE..
IVILLIAM GIBSON, JR., OF WOLSELEY, CANADA, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO JOHN DEAN GALE, OF WHITEWOOD, CANADA.
DESIGN FOR A PLOWSHARE-LAY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,566, dated January 7, 1902.
Application filed December 3,'1901. Serial No. 84,596. Term of patent 14 years.
To @ZZ whom it Irl/ty concern.-
Beit known that I, WILLIAM GIBSON, Jr. a subject of the King o'f Great Britain, and a resident of \Volseley,Assiniboia, in the Northwest Territories and Dominion of Canada, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Plowshare-Lay, of which Jthe followingis a full, clear, and exact description.
Reference is to be had to the accompanyingdrawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.
' Figure l is a side view of a ploWshare-lay, showing my design.. Fig. 2 is an edge View thereof, and Fig. 3 is a section through the line 3 3 of Fig. l.
Theleading feature of my design for a plowshare-lay consists in the body portion having its opposite edges convergent and connecting at the lower end in an inclined curve, the said opposite edges being longitudinally curved inward and connecting at the upper end with a reduced portion or shank.
Referring particularly to the drawings, 10 designates the body portion, which is divergent from its upper end to the lower end, the lower ends of the sides of the body portion being connected by an inclined curve ll, and at the upper end is an extension or shank 12, which is somewhat thicker than the body portion. The said shank at one side, as indicated at 13, is curved and the lower end of the body portion, as shown in Fig. 2, is turned or curved laterally.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent* The design for a plowshare-lay as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
