DESIGN.
J. G. HAAS.
WEDGE KEY.
(Application filed Sept. 16, 1901.)
UNETED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN G. HAAS, OF PITTSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A WEDGE KEY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,260, dated November 5, 1901.
Application filed September 16, 1901. Serial No. 75,623. Term of patent 7 years.
To (bZZ whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, JOHN G. HAAS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Wedge Keys, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to wedge keys used in securing objects having a concave surface to objects having a convex surface, but more particularly for securing ventilating-caps to ventilating-pipes, and the design thereof is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective View of the wedge key. Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same. Fig. 3 is a cross-section thereof.
The leading feature of the design consists of the key formed channel-like and wedge shape in cross-section, curved in contour, and
tapering in length, with its small end abruptly curved outwardly.
Referring to the drawings by letter, A designates the curved center portion, which is wider at one end than at the other.
B designates upward diverging flanges, which with the curved center portion A form the channel like cross section of the key. These flanges are higher at one end than at the other and are made converging from their high end to their low end.
At the small end of the key the flanges B are curved outwardly at their upper corners, as at G.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a wedge key, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto affixed my signature in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
1 JOHN G. HAAS.
