Application filed December 21, 1896. Serial No. 616,551. Term 0f patent 14 years.

Be it; known that we, WILLIAM K. WEBB and EDWARD ANDREss, citizens of the United States of America, residing at 'ilkinsburg, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania,have invented a certain new and original Design in Shoestring-Fasteners, of which the following is a specication, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to a certain new and original design in shoestriIig-fasteners, and in describing the invention in detail reference is had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification, like letters of reference indicating similar parts throughout the View, which is a perspective view of our design.
The principal feature of our design is the plate n., having beveled corners b l), said plate being bent or doubled to form an upper plate c, the two plates thus formed constituting a hook, said upper plate being slightly curved, with the lowest point of depression in close proximity to the plate a. Projecting barbs d d are formed integral with the plate ci and project downwardly therefrom.
