Description

OR D 32 9797 DESIGN.
Patented June 5, I900.
T, PARKER. BAIL JOINT AND CHAIR.
[Application filed Apr. 94, 1000.)
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
THOMAS PARKER, OF FAYETTE CITY, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A RAIL JOINT AND CHAIR.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,797, dated June 5, 1900.
Application filed April 24, 1900. Serial No. 145195. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THOMAS PARKER, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Fayette City, in the county of Fayette and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a certain new and original Design fora Rail Joint and Chair, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to a certain new and novel design in a rail joint and chair, and has for its object to provide a design for a rail joint and chair of new and original shape.
As shown in the accompanying drawing, the rail joint and chair consists of the novel outline and configuration which will be hereinafter fully described and specifically pointed out.
In describing the invention in detail reference is had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification, and wherein is shown a perspective view of my new and novel design for a rail joint and chair.
Referring to the drawing by reference-numerals, 1 indicates a whole base, and 2 the hollow web portion, both of which form an inverted T, and having the top converging outwardly. The base 1 is formed of the bottom 3, rectangular in contour and having the vertical sides 4. Each of the sides terminates into an upwardly-inclined portion 5, forming the top of the base. The upper ends of these inclined portions do not engage each other, but terminate in thc upwardly-extending vertical portions 6, forming the web 2. The upper ends of these vertical portions converge outwardly, as at 7. The sides of the base are formed with a series of segmentshaped re ccsses 8.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a rail joint and chair, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I aifix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
THOMAS PARKER.
Witnesses:
JOHN NOLAND, A. L. BOGAN.
