UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ALBERT PICK, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A STEM-GLASS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,828, dated March 25, 1902.
Application filed February 17, 1902. Serial No. 94,567. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom, it ntay concern.-
Be it known that I, ALBERT PICK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a novel Design for a Stem-Glass; and I do hereby declare the fol lowing to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention.
My invention relates to a novel design for a stem-glass, the object being to provide a new and ornamental glass of this description; and it consists in the novel features of the design hereinafter fully described and claimed.
The accompanying drawing, illustrating my design, shows a glass made in accordance therewith in perspective View.
My said design consists in a glass having a circular base, from which a stem of polygonal shape rises, said stem being contracted adjacent its lower end, increasing in thickness to a point slightly above the middle of the stem, and then again contracted adjacent the bowl, the base of which is also of polygonal shape, the sides of said polygonal base being coincident with the sides of the stem and continuations of the latter. The said faces of the base of the bowl terminate in apexes, which also border a series of flat surfaces at their lower ends, said fiat surfaces being curved on their upper edges. Above said last-named fiat surfaces the bowl is smooth for a short distance, and above said smooth portion and midway between the base and rim of the bowl the latter is provided with an annular row of flat elliptical surfaces extending longitudinally. Above said annular row of fiat elliptical surfaces said bowl is provided with 1ongitudinal depressions or corrugations, which produce an iridescent efi'ect, but are not of such depth as to be readily perceptible to the touch.
My design is very graceful and ornamental and makes a glass of great beauty.
I claim as my invention- The design for a stem-glass, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
ALBERT PICK. Witnesses:
RUDOLPH WM. L'oTz, JOHN SNowHooK.
