Description

DESIG N. t
' Patented May 28, mm.
F. eiw Lcox. VEHICLE CLIP.
(Application filed Apr. 26, 1901.)
I'l H I UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRANK E. -llTILCOX, OF MECHANICSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO LESTER E. HIOKOK, OE SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A VEHICLE-CLIP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,576, dated May 28, 1901.
Application filed April 26, 1901. Serial No. 57,633. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern: v
Be it known that I, FRANK E. WILcoX, a citizen of the United States, residing at Mechanicsburg,in the county of Cumberland and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Vehicle- Clips; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the entire clip, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a sectional View of Fig. 1.
As shown by the figures of the drawings, the leading or characteristic features of my design consist in the perforated body portion, having three depending legs, and the.curved surface D between the legs.
A is the body portion of the clip, provided with aperpendicular perforation, as shown in the sectional view, and B one of the depending legs, which gradually tapers from the body portion outwardly and downwardly to near the end, where it takes theshape of a bolt end 0 and is circular in cross-section. The
legB on the under or inner surface gradually curves upwardly and blends with the curved surface D, which extends the entire width of the body portion.
E E are two parallel legs, which depend from part A, one each side of the perforation. Both are circular in cross-section and present the appearance of two bolt-shanks. From the upper surface of the body portion and at one side thereof extends a tubular projection F, which coincides with the axis of the perforation through the body portion.
The complete clip appears to the eye as a structure having a main body portion pro vided with a circular perforation extending therethrough, two depending bolt shaped legs, one on each side of the perforation, and an outwardly-extending and downwardly-depending leg, which forms, with the body portion at the top, a convex surface and on the under side a concaved surface approaching in outline the shape of a portion of an ellipse.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a vehicle-clip, as herewith shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
FRANK E. WILOOX.
Witnesses:
