Description

DESIGN.
E. B. VROOMAN. SINK STRAINER.
No. 24,457. Patented July 2, 1895.
fifmam 5 @m @PA UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EMELINE B. VROOMAN, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A SINK-STRAINER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design N0. 24,457, dated July 2, 1895.
Application filed June 7, 1895. Serial No. 552,033. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, EMELINE B. VROOMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Sink-Strainers, of which the following, in connection with the accompanying drawings, is a full, clear, and exact specification.
In the said drawings, Figure 1 represents a sink-strainer in perspective embodying my design. Fig. 2 is a plan View thereof, and F g. 3 is a front view.
The essential features of my design consist of the funnel-shaped body portion A, having the truncated or abrupt lower end B and the flange or laterally-projecting portion 0 at its upper rear side or edge.
The body portion A is substantial y funnelshaped, its upper side being flared to a wide angle, while its lower end B is out off abruptly, as shown more clearly in Fig.3. The front or outer side of the strainer-body portion A is bowed or substantially circular, while the rear side is formed at an angle D. The upper rear side of the body portion is also angular, and the flange 0 projects laterally and rearwardly in substantiallya horizontaldirection, the forward ends of the flange 0 being tapered off, so as to gradually run into the curve of the upper forward side of the strainer, thus making the flange C at each side thereof substantially V-shaped. In the apex of the angle formed by the two side portions of the flange 0 is formed a perforation c.
The forward outer side of the body portion A is provided witha unrnberof upright radially-arranged slits or slots a.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new therein, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for sink-strainers substantially as herein shown and described.
