UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE;
MARY A. HERB, OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI.
DESIGN FOR A CHILDS KNIFE-BLADE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,401, dated. April 23, 1901.
T0 aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MARY A. HERB, a citizen of the United States,and a resident of Cape Girardeau, in the county of Cape Girardeau and State of Missouri, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Childs Knife-Blade, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in both the figures.
Figure 1 is a perspective View of a childs knife-blade, showing my design; and Fig. 2 is an edge view of the same.
The leading feature of my design for a childs knife-blade consists of a body portion sharpened at one edge, one end having a plate or tang-like projection, while the other end is rounded or carried in a curved line from the back to the sharp edge of the body and has a portion extended beyond the line of the sharp edge. I
Application fil d March 23, 1901. b'erial No. 52,660. Term of patent '7 years.
Referring particularly to the drawings, 1 designates the body portion of the knife-blade, which is formed with one sharp edge, and at one end of the body is a tang-like projection 2, while the other end is curved from the back to the sharpened edge of the body, and a portion 3 of this curved end is extended below the line of the sharpened edge, and the connection between said projected portion and the sharpened edge is rentrant, as at 4.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The design for a childs knife-blade,as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
MARY A. HERB.
Witnesses:
