ARTHUR B. CLUNIES, OF ROCHESTER, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR TO THE SILL STOVE WORKS, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A FIRE-BRICK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,403, dated. December 15, 1896.
Application filed October 3, 1896. Serial No. 607,803. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ARTHUR B. OLUNIEs, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rochester, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Fire- Bricks, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying. drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective View of my design; Fig. 2, a bottom plan View; Fig. 3, a top plan view; Fig. 4:, a View of the end opposite that shown in Fig. 1; Fig. 5, a vertical sectional View.
Similar reference-numerals in the several figures indicate similar parts.
The leading feature of my design consists in the shape and configuration ofthe fire-brick shown.
The front face 1 of the brick is slightly curved outward at 2, and the upper front edge is rounded over, as at 3. At one end is provided the surface 4, joining the curved face 2, and above is the angular recess 5, while be low the surface & the end is cut away at 6. In the end of the brick shown in Fig. 1 there is formed the narrow recess 7, extending to the cut-away portion 6, and the lower edge of the face of the brick is cut away, as at 8. The end of the brick shown in Fig. 4 is formed with the recess 9 extending upward from the bottom, and in rear and above this recess the end of the brick is cut away, as shown, the depressed portion 10 thus formed having the slightly-rounded upper wall 11. I claim as my invention The design for a fire-brick, substantially as herein shown and described.
