DESIGN FOR A COOKING-RANGE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,034, dated July 12, 1898.

Application filed June 3, 1898. Serial No. 682,496. Term of patent 14 years.

Be it known that LAMEEIcUs V. FLETCHER, a citizen of the United States, residing in Athol, in the county of \Vorcester and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cookingtanges, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.

Figure l is a perspective view of a cooking range, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a central vertical section of the front wall of the range.

Similar letters of reference indicate correspondin g parts.

The leading features of my design consist in the shape or contour of the front and side walls of the main portion of a cooking-range. From the under side of the flat top A of the range the front wall extends downward and rearward atB into a cap of substantially ogee shape in vertical section, thence forward on a downward incline at C to the opening for the door D. From the lower edge of this opening the central portion of the front wall extends rearward at E in the ogee shape shown, and from the lower edge of the opening below this portion the front wall is substantially vertical, as shown at F, until it reaches the horizontal outwardly-projecting lower plate or shelf H. The portion 13 is straight horizontally and extends for more than the full length of the front wall and constitutes a cap therefor. The

portion 0 is central and extends for aportion only of the width of the front wall and joins the wall by means of the fiat ends 0. The portion E is curved in horizontal section and projects forward centrally from the portion K of the front wall. This portion K is a substantially flat surface extending rearward at an angle from the cap portion B to the shelf or plate H. At its opposite edges it is formed outward into the corner-pieces L, which extend from the ends of the portion B of the opposite ends of the plate H. The side walls I are exactly alike and extend from the lower end of the cap-pieces R, which are exactly similar in shape to the portion B, downward and rearward on a slight curve to the horizontal plate S. An end wall T corresponds substantially in shape to the corner-walls L, and a shelf U extends from said end wall to a corner-wall, such shelf being made slightly convoluted in cross-section. The corner-walls L and end wall T are hollowed out or concave in horizontal section.

Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The design for a cooking-range, substantially as herein shown and described.
