DESIGN FOR A KITCHEN-SAFE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,816, dated November 2, 1897. Application filed March 31, 1897. Serial No. 630,181. Term of patent 14 years- To all whom it ntay concern:

Be it known that I, JEssE M. (TURTICE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kansas City, in the county of Jackson and State of Missouri, have inventeda new and original Design for a Kitchen-Safe, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a new and original design for a kitchen-safe; and it has for its object to provide a design of this character that shall be both useful and ornamental.

The leading feature of the design resides in an approximately rectangular uprightbody having a front ofiset portion provided with an inclined front wall and at the nppercdge of said wall with a separate narrow ledge or panel meeting the vertical front wall of the upper portion of the body, oppositely-located sets of rectangular plates provided with circular projections and arranged on said separate narrow ledge or panel, and an obtuse-angled plate located between the opposite sets of rectangular plates and having a circular figure in its pendent flange.

In the drawing the figure is a perspective view of a kitchen-safe embodying the hereindeseribed design.

Referring to the drawing, the numeral 1 designates the upright body of the safe and is of an approximately rectangular form. The upper portion of the body 1 is provided with a vertical front wall 2, while the lower or base portion of the body is enlarged and extended at the front beyond the plane of the vertical wall 2. The front extension of the lower base portion of the body is provided with an inclined front wall 3, having a pair of separate longitudinally-arranged rectangular door-panels 4, and at the upper edge of the inclined front wall 3 the front extension of the base portion is provided with a sharplyinelined ledge or panel 5, which declines in an outward direction from the lower edge of the vertical front wall .3. Oppositely-loeated sets of rectangular plates (5 are arranged on the ledge or panel 5and are formed with central circular projections 7. The rectangular plates 6 have the same inclination as the ledge or panel 5, and between the oppositelyloeated sets of these plates is arranged an angular plate 8, the upper flange or member of which lies on the ledge or panel 5 and the lower pendent vertical flange or member of which is formed with a circular figure 9.

XVhat I claim is- The design for a kitchen-safe herein shown and described.
