To (J/ZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ARTHUR B. CLUNIEs, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rochester, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Fire-Bricks, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, showing the same.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of one end ofthe fire-brick; Fig. 2, a similar view of the opposite end; Fig. 3, a cross sectional View, and Fig. 4 a longitudinalsectional view.
The leading feature of my design consists in the configuration or shape of the brick.
The upper edge of the brick is rounded as shown at 1, and on the front near one end is the angular rib 2, merging into said rounded edge, the side of said rib nearestthe end being more abrupt than the other, and the lower edge of the brick is cutaway 0r chamfered at 3.
In the end of the brick nearest the rib 2 is a channel 4 and above this a shoulder 5 is formed.
The end of the brick shown in Fig. 2 is cut away at 6 and in said cut-away part is the channel 7 which extends toward the front and merges into the chamfer 3 in the lower edge of the brick. The upper end of the cutaway portion 6 is rounded toward the back at 8, as shown in Fig. 2.
What I claim is- The design for fire-bricks substantially as herein shown and described.
